Globalism...what is it? How will it end up? Is it good or bad? Where is the limit of Capitalism and Imperialism? Do you think the oil prices today are related to globalism?

Globalism...we are already experiencing it. Capitalism as we know it, starts as a system that gives liberty to people, and one of the most important is the economic freedom. Nobody can argue that economic freedom is a bad thing, of course is a good thing, and one of the things that made capitalism as a economic system to survive, comparing to socialism. But the draw back of capitalism is that it doesn't put limits on the profit that one can make and have. So as a result, big corporates came out as a result of merging of small businesses, and that was the first sign of globalism within a country. Of course these big corporates couldn't stop there, inside their own country, the result: Globalism.
Is it good or bad? Well, depends from where you see it. If you're part of these corporates, and to be part of them you must be a millionaire, or part of the lucky 1% of the world's population, of course globalism is a good thing. But for us that are not part of it I think is bad. It's bad because globalism the first thing that kills is the very reason of the existence of capitalism, competition. That means that we as people do not have anymore too many choices when it come to choosing services or goods. On the other hand, is bad for the economy as a whole, the world economy. If a stock market crashes somewhere in Asia, we'll see its negative effect in a matter of hours here in USA, and that will effect the economy as a whole all over the world. Who will pay for that? Of course, we will pay the bill, as always, as we're paying it now with the oil and food prices.
These are few things that came up in my mind, how globalisation is changing our life for bad, but there are more that will make our life worse if we will go further...

That's what I think too, Teuta. The only difference between capitalism and comunism is the way how to enslave people and make them work for the self-chosen elite. The comunism uses the ideology, the capitalism the finances through debt...the result is the same, just the terminology differs...

They hate communism because it doesn't give you economic freedom, and of course the freedom of speech, which of course is the result of the former. Economics determine a social system, since the time that money was invented, and killing the economic freedom is not a wise choice. That was already proven in life...of course we're talking here about the communism as it was applied in eastern Europe, not the theoretical one written by Marx and Engels, which sounded all good on the paper. The problem with Marx was because he was a good economist and Engels a good philosopher, but none of them really knew the human nature, and by that I mean the desire of every person in this world to be rich...that killed the Marx and Engels' communism, and I'm not sure if some day this human nature will change...so far it went from bad to worse. The same reason made capitalism what it is today.
Well, I know I sound a little pessimistic, but except some organizations that claim to be humanists, I don't see any difference or change on the pattern of the human behavior since ancient times... we still fight each-other, the only difference comparing with the ancients is the way we kill each-other.
The solution...well there is a solution if we really put humanism first, as Ted Turner said once, I hate everything that ends with "-ism", capitalism, communism, christianism, islamism except humanism. That should be the base of a social system...that's what I think at least.

So, which should be the best system? Socialism as perceived in Europe, Capitalism as perceived in USA, Globalism, Communism, Monarchy, Feudalism, Slave Owners' time??
The system that has offered more to the most in history is capitalism. Judged in that perspective it is the best economic system humans ever managed to create. By other criteria might be not. In todays world as bad as it is, still more people then ever have more then ever. In no time in humans history statistics have been better. Keep in mind that this is comparing with the past not with what we wish to be in the future. Capitalism it is as any other system a tool humanity invent to operate responding to the level of emancipation human been as a hole can manipulate. When humans will realize that problems accumulated can't be solved anymore with this tool then rest assured another tool will be born out of necessity. No system is evil or great, just or unjust since it is a tool reflecting our social evolution as humans. Every system has been superior and inferior to others in time continuum. The same will happen to capitalism. But till that time comes it served the needs of upgrading and advancing the humans out of feudalism.
P.S. Monarchy is not a system in fact. Monarchy or Republic it is a form of the state.

Capitlism is a far worse evil than even communism. Capitlism pitches the wealthy against the poor...Sidelines countries in africa, latin america and other low developed areas.Capitlism creates wars for profits and at the same time rapes the rights of the common civilian.
We are living in a globalized world where the US is using capitalism and " democracy " as a pretext to destabalise and the reap profits of regions that have resources. If this mentality ever comes to where i live in Greece, than I will pick up my bags and move to some island selling bananas...they can go screw themselves..

Teuta,
I agree with you if we see the world today. By the economic freedom I meant the freedom to open a private business, which by the way was the key of success of capitalism. But again, in the world of today that kind of capitalism is gone since the big corporations are controlling everything. The problem of the capitalism today (at least in USA) are exactly these big corporations which are monopolizing and controlling the economy. There is an antitrust law to stop these corporations to monopolize the economy, but I don't think it is being applied as it should, and that means less competition and a market controlled by these monopolies. Less competition means higher prices for the consumer, and that translates in a higher cost of living.
Today we can't say that in a capitalist society, and I'm talking about USA, people don't have money to buy food, but we can say that they have money just to buy food and commodities to make them able to work, and I guess that's what an average american is doing today. It's not on the capitalism's interest to make people starve, because someone has to work in order to make the rich people more rich.
In communism is a total different story. The communist society is not based on the private property, and there is no economic freedom, and that means there is no competition. State has to take care of everything, including the competition. In the beginning it might work, but after some time when people realize that there is no monetary stimulus, they stop working as hard as before, and the economy goes to a stagnation, as it happened in ex-communist countries. The competition is the spirit of the development. Can it be injected in communism? I don't know, it might, but it is going to take a lot of effort.
What I like is a system that combines the humanism with capitalism, a system that keeps in control big corporations and keeps an eye on them if they have tendencies to monopolize the economy and control everything. The closest one today is the socialism as perceived in Europe, in other words the European type of capitalism.

I agree with you Teuta, but I wanted to say that of course the economic freedom still exists in capitalism, but is not exactly the state that will not allow it to grow. State, according to the laws that still exist encourages the small businesses, but is the big corporations that in some way or another monopolize everything practically. That is making impossible for the small businesses to grow. If a big company like Walmart, Target or Sears are selling everything starting from clothes and ending with appliances, how can someone expect to open a small store selling one of these items that these stores are selling and make money while facing their competition? These big companies are collecting all the money and are becoming more wealthy by day, and literally are controlling the state, but they do not force the state to change laws, because they don't need to since they control everything...it is in their interest that the state with its laws to appears as democratic, which of course is only on the paper.
The economic system determines the laws, the rules and everything, and as I said laws in capitalism are all good on the paper, and I'm talking about the economic ones. Rich people don't really care about them since they have the money and power to twist them to suit their interests, and of course we the middle class will pay the bill as always. As long as money can buy anything and everything, do not expect any democracy in action in USA at least. So of course the millionaires will be always on the top and will control everything until people wake up and realize that this is not the democracy that they were told.
Of course, in this so called democracy you can't put people to work for you using force. The only way to make them work for you is to raise prices, leave them only enough money to buy food and shelter, and if they want any commodities, they must borrow money from you, with interest of course...so, put them in debt and make them work for you all their life...isn't that smart?
No, because communism is base on common property, which is state's property by the way. If there is a owner, of course you can't compete with yourself, unless you find some way to inject competition artificially by giving people bonuses, but still this bonuses are against the communism ideology where people should be equal on everything, no matter how productive they are.
Exactly, corporates and the monopolies are like cancer, once they start growing, no way you can stop them, unless you perform a surgery to remove them, and this surgery should be done by the state as soon as they start growing without control, because it will be too late after...and I'm afraid it is too late already...

Of course the state can't do anything about you and me, since isnt's itself anymore and it's controlled by the ones who have the millions...the state today is like these string puppets , the millionaires are on the other end of the string...the problem is that most of the people don't see even the strings, let alone the ones that control the puppet... Of course the economics determine the politics. It makes sense that the wealthy who have the money control everything, and that was the case in every system, including capitalism. As I said before, as long as money can buy anything and everything, that's the way it will be...always. They do not forbid it, their existence forbids it...like cancer when it grows in the human body, it doesn't grow with the purpose to kill its host, but the growth itself, its existence kills his host, and the cancer dies too of course. That's what will happen with the monopolies, they will kill the host (which is the capitalism) if they grow without control, and themselves too... Of course...and that's the way we should see it, in an optimistic way
