go with russia then ...... There's no going anywhere, Russia is already with us and it's all Serbia wants - their backing. Also this automatically implies that China holds the same stance. Serbia has a lot of support and this should be surprising since Serbia is a country that's been in isolation for how many years now rex ? I know you been counting. Dačić to meet with Putin, Medvedev on April 10 MOSCOW -- Prime Minister Ivica Dačić will confer with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow on April 10.The Russian government's press service announced over the weekend that the Serbian prime minister and interior minister would visit Russia on April 9-11 at the invitation of the Russian Prime Minister, Itar-Tass reported. Medvedev and Dačić will consider the key issues of bilateral cooperation relating to trade, economy, energy, investments, humanitarian assistance, culture and other domains, the release reads, adding that after the talks, “several agreements and documents” will be signed between the governments, ministries and services. Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov announced that the Russian president would receive Dačić on April 10. The Kremlin official said that the visit had been agreed in early February, so it is not directly connected to the outcome of the Brussels talks on Kosovo. Ushakov said that the telephone conversation Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić and Putin had on April 2 was "to some extent linked to that (the negotiations)," said RIA Novosti. www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2013&mm=04&dd=08&nav_id=85587Day after "D-day". Looks like Dacic already knows what's going to happen and is planning accordingly.

albs are the first to want to jump on the wagon what do you know about fighting for self? Mufti supports Serbian government on Kosovo BELGRADE -- Deputy Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community of Serbia and Mufti of Serbia Muhamed Jusufspahić has backed the Serbian government on the issue of Kosovo. This religious dignitary said on Monday that his support came as the government is making the difficult decisions that would have a long-lasting effect on the future of the country and its people. "This is a moment when we have to stick together and support each other," Jusufspahić said in a letter to the government, which should make its decision on Monday regarding the offer from Brussels to solve the Kosovo issue. "We come to you at this difficult time when important decisions have to be made, which will have a long-term effect on the future of our people and country as a whole. We, the Islamic Community of Serbia, the Muslims of Serbia, as part of the people and being from the people, feel this difficult time in every way while wishing our country all the best," he stated. "We have to be together and as one, be supportive of each other, because we all lose or win," he noted. "We pray to our creator, our God, the one and only, to bless us and our country Serbia, to protect us from evil and guide us in the right direction, to give our government the wisdom and strength to find the best solution," Jusufspahić wrote. www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2013&mm=04&dd=08&nav_id=85593CCCC

You are implying that Albanians where among those groups that assimilated Illyrians into their fold. You are going against the grain of scholarship which says we are the remnants of the Illyrians. Keep in mind that the Illyrians where a barbaric, civilizationally primitive, group to begin with and then see the early Albanians. The Illyrians weren't much different than any other ancient society of the time - my point is they're an extinct people. Nothing of theirs survived whatever is known was uncovered by foreigners (most of it is based on assumption through artifacts and symbolism) the albanians were probably one of the last people to learn about them, while this knowledge was roaming in the West first. Only argument left is genetics and logic dictates they got swallowed up by "stronger societies" so there genes are dispersed beyond some isolated area you imply. There's too many holes, look at the language. The Illyrian language is said to have turned extinct by the 5th Century, roughly or even before the Slavs even got in. What's this about? Then the Albanian language pops up around the 12th Century, long after the Slavs are recorded as being in Balkan and long after the first Serbian text was written. You guys are a mystery.

The scenario Serbia is in is exactly like a guy getting muscled by the mafia.
I just hope Serbia doesn't get into the EU whatever they decide tomorrow may not have relevance in the nearer future anyway. At this point, just recognize Kosovo and treat them as a hostile country, Serbia will have an obligation to intervene the moment the albs try to get to the north and at least the north would be back under Belgrade.

The SNS presidency decided that the government should not sign the agreement which it has not even seen and certain parts of which do not take into account even the minimum of Serbia's national interests, the party's leader Aleksandar Vucic said, adding that the government should seek urgent resumption of dialog with Pristina. www.tanjug.rs/news/83149/vucic--govt-should-not-sign-dialog-should-continue.htm

Indeed, the name Skanderbeg was so athematized it was actually stamped out in Albania. Preservation of the name and the idea of Christian resistance to Ottoman-islamic tyranny in Albania owes everything to the Aberesh, Christian Albanians that migrated to Italy following the death of Djurdji Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Branilo; There is also the matter of Skanderbeg's ancestry. According to some sources, great-grandfather, Branilo Castrioti. was a Serb in the company of Serbs.
It is matter of record that the Castrioti estates in Albania can be traced to Skanderbeg's grandfather, Pal, who received his estates from Serbian Emperor Dusan in 1345.
Voisava; It is also certain the Skanderbeg's father, Ivan Castrioti, married a Serb, Voisava who bored him four sons; ( Djordje, Stanisha, Reposh, and Konstandin) and five daughters; ( Mara, Jelena, Andjelina, Vlajka and Marica). Hilandar; Ivan and his sons were generous patrons of the Serbian Orthodox Monastery Hilandar on Mount AthosBurried at Hilandar; John Kastrioti chose to be burried at the Serbian Orthodox Monastery Hilandar. Whether one or more John Kastrioti's sons were also burried at the Hilandar is uncertain. Skanderbeg's Son; John, Skanderbeg's son, marries Irene Brankovic, daughter of Lazar Brankovic, despot of Serbia. Skanderbeg's Daughter; Voisava, Skanderbeg's daughter, marries Ivan Crnojevic, Lord of Montenegro and Zeta. Burat, Mahmutbegovic; It is also interesting that two great Muslim North Albanian families, the Busats of Skadar and the Mahmutbegovic of Pec, trace their origins to the Crnojevics, the Serb rulers of medeival Montenegro-Zeta. Clippings from; The year is 1426, and the first document ever to contain the name "George Kastiot" is written in Serbian and Cyrillic script in the First Act of Hilandar. 1431, Skanderbeg's brother Reposh died as a monk in the Serbian Orthodox Monastery of Hilandar and was burried there. In period between 1426 and 1431 Gjon Kastrioti and his three sons (Stanisha, Reposh and George) purchased four adelphates (rights to reside on monastic territory) to the Saint George tower of Hilandar and to some property within the monastery as stated in the Second Act of Hilandar.1437; Gjon Kastrioti died and was buried in Serbian Orthodox monastery of Hilandar in Mount Athos. It is clear that Skanderbeg had a foundational respect towards the Serbian Orthodox Church; both his father and his brother are burried on Serbian holy grounds. I can go on forever how Albanians today love to twist Skanderbeg's epic to their liking when in fact the majority of you here have no clue to what he was about or what he wanted for his people and land. You guys chant his name and wave his flag while being oblivious to the fact that he had Serb-roots. Skanderbeg knew it - this is obvious through the above I posted. However his roots are insignificant, he declared himself as an Albanian and like many Albanians of the time he also aknowledged his Slavic roots.

Irrelevant. A good part of modern Greeks are descended from the ancient Greeks and are rightly recognized so despite no folk memory of them whatsoever. It was simply too long ago and too many dark ages have taken place since then. And quit twisting Scanderbeg, you obviously lost that one. How is it irrelevant? So much is documented on the Greek side, firstly by them mostly first-hand and then by foreign observers but we're not talking about them. Is there anything first-hand Albanians have held throughout the time since the Illyrians to today? I don't know - I'm asking, so let's talk about it. We're talking about the Illyrians... a people "said as being" in Balkan for over a 1000's till the Slavs got in. Where is this history? Don't try to sell this idea that it was the Slavs who erased everything and "colonized" your land because I think you're smarter than that. If you ask me (I know you would never), the Illyrians got swallowed up by the Slavs, Greeks, Romans and to a lesser degree Celts - officially they are an extinct people. Sure, there genes are probably still roaming among some Albanians however the same can be said for Slavs, and more so the Greeks.

So you understand now yes? That Skanderbeg is the only epic/hero the Albanians have.
That letter was already posted awhile back there must be something else out there. Anyone from Balkan can claim ancestry to Alexander the Great when dealing with Westerners, be real man.
Where did he chant out Illyrian claims, and Illyrian heritage? Where/when did Skanderbeg show that he even knew what "Illyrian" even was...
That letter is about 2 people talking s**t getting ready for war. He's specifically speaking about his race here saying he is an Epirote and even gets historical. I don't know what else you could possibly want from him. You asked and there it its, quit being a little bitch. Ofcourse he knew of the Illyrians, he obviously demonstrated an impressive knowledge of classical history. Look at what he wrote and don't kid yourself. He didn't mention Queen Teuta for example because she was defeated by the Romans and wouldn't further the point he was trying to make to the Prince. You're not understand my point. Even IF he did jerk off to the idea of Illyrians being the ancestors of Albanians where is this known? Everything about him is "Albanian"... right? The Illyrian-alb connection started full throttle during Hoxha's time... not even Skanderbeg himself advocated that. He only wanted Albanians to be free from Turkish imposition - simple as that. Speaking of letters did you know Albanian monasteries have letters written by him in cyrillic? puttin ALLLLLLLL this aside. Lets go back to the original point; Who are some famous Illyrian Generals/Leaders/Nobles? How did they govern themsevles? What religion did they follow? My point is you claim "to be them" yet know nothing of them....

^ Actually no, none of the questions were even adressed. Knowledge of the Illyrians is the last thing you guys are concerned about, you only care to connect yourself to them that's it. lol btw I like how you hint to my point to how the albs were caveman up until recently.
anyway....
Show me one-source/quote PROVING that Skanderbeg saw himself/his people as Illyrians... this should be easy. (btw using Skanderbeg as an example to what I'm looking only proves my point even further)
I don't want any assumptions from historians hundres of years later, guesses or hopeful interpretations.

I wonder how many of you albies actually know anything about the Illyrians, besides trying to connect yourselves to these ancients... what do you ACTUALLY know about them?
Who are the high generals in their military ranks?
Who are the Illyrian heroes?
What sort of military history do they have? artilery/tactical/weaponary....
What are the names of the Illyrian dynasty... how did they rule themselves, was their nobility/royalty....government? ...
What legends/myths still exist today?
What sort of unique customs did the Illyrians have?
What religion did the Illyrians follow?
What caused their downfall ?

well I could of rewrote it in my own style ....I state where it came from In order - point by point How else can the country in 20 years start multiple wars and lose them all?Wrong. Serbia didn't start the wars and all sides lost - the least being Serbia when understanding their soveriengty compared to the others. How else can they get their countries infrastructure bombed into the stone age by the alliance that kept Europe safe during the cold war?Retarded observation. It was NATO who went against the UNSC and who broke about 100 International Laws. While still losing btw. How did they lose an obscene amount of their territory?Obscene amount of territory? oh he must mean Kosovo... this fight is still on btw. thats sad actually must be you (rex) or one of your followers... there's too many errors in that quote you posted to begin with. I've proven so on all counts ... TO YOU but as always and how your parents taught you.... just sing lalalaaa and all is graaavyy.

"The Albanians are among the oldest inhabitants of the Balkan Peninsula, and in its early history parts of the region were held at various periods by the Roman Empire, the Goths, Serbia, Bulgaria, Byzantium, the despotate of Epirus, and by Sicily. (...) ALBANIAN, a SATEM LANGUAGE of the INDO-EUROPEAN linguistic family, of which it now constitutes an independent branch, spoken in the kingdom of Albania with scattered colonies in Greece, Sicily and southern Italy. It is almost certainly the modern representative of the ancient ILLYRIAN stock, thus being cognate with the extinct Phrygian, Macedonian, Thracian and Messapian and possibly with the extinct Pre-Sabellian and Novilaran (see separate articles on these subjects).
The National encyclopedia, Volume 1, Henry Suzzallo, William Waite Beardsley, P.F. Collier & Son Co., 1932, p.120 This still doesn't explain why the albanians never acheived anything throughout their existence.

Sounds like Afrocentric propaganda; he was not black. There is a theory that the Phillistines were descendents of Minoan colonizers; that would make them Mediterranean Greeks. The archaeological remains - bones included - comply to this theory. rex would disagree.
