I tried to watch it this morning.... somehow when the Olympics are not held in Europe and especially Greece they lack the magic.... even though the show was spectacular it failed IMO, to capture the magic of the 2004 opening ceremonies .... I turned them off after the first country entered the stadium... that was the only country that interested me.... ;D Somehow low human rights and dog and cat eating turned me off....

That's what I thought too Kanaris. I liked the Greek opening much better. Chinese had too much hi-tech stuff there, like they wanted to show the world that we are a superpower or something...the human touch was missing there and the colors were irritating...or probably was me...

The chinese crowd sucks! They never or rarely cheer and woo
I mean,I remembered in Athens they cheered often.Chinese dont know.......
I like the opening ceremony though, lots of intresting colourful stuff, very pretty, but I like Athens' one too.The evolution/history of Greece

Both the Greek and Chinese were good. They were different so it is not easy to compare them. China focused on elements such as discipline, quantity, and high-tech. Greece's was more theatrical and was based on the beauty of simplicity, the essence of the ancient Greek civilization.
