Everybody loses the head time after time. ;D The thread is indeed "Albanian Language in Greek Schools", and there is not Greek language in public schools in USA, but there is the Spanish language since they constitute 20% of population or even more.
The article of the link indicates exactly that. An Albanian private school is built in Greece from an Albanian.
And what makes you think that Albanians and all the Children of Albanians born and raised in Greece do not pay Taxes?

And the children of Albanians born in Greece should pay a ticket and travel by bus 8 hrs. to go to School? How interesting....but how about the same applies to Greek minority in Albania? They instead, have their school

I speak out of ignorance but I am willing to bet that these language schools are completely funded by Greek orthodox churches and donations from the community. Or they may be upheld and continue to run merely from volunteers. I highly doubt that the Albanian government is doing anything in Albania to promote the learning of the Greek language. It is not their responsibility.

Greek language has always been present in Albania, in the zones where Greeks lived. In communism times and now. Government was always somehow involved - even with the simple fact of allowing them. In communism times there were no such things like Foundations or Church contribution. PS: error fixed.

As matter of fact, in communist times in Albania, the greek language was tought in schools until the 4th grade. It was even a college in Gjirokastra to prepare teachers for these greek schools all founded by the state with taxpayers money....and I think it still continues today.

Well... I guess that they had to prepare there exodus of refugees that would someday end up in Greece perhaps returning to Albania one day to spend that money. That is pretty neat though Albquietman. I did not know that. Are you sure about that?

Yea albquietman Enver Hoxha didn't even like Chams so why would he open schools for Greeks? If you are not from Albania you probably shouldn't comment on what happened during communism, because chances are you don't know.

Me and my family all hate communism and Enver Hoxha was a bloody tyrant. He treated Chams like second class citizens but was a little too friendly with the Greek minority. Not to mention he was from Gjirokastra. Sometimes I wonder whether he was really Albanian or...

^^^ Alright. Didnt know that. I guess I SHOULDNT have commented. Should I just take your word? He's basically right. Hoxha didn't care much for ethnicity as much as he cared for support. The Greeks in Albania didn't resist the communists, in fact many openly supported them so in turn the regime treated them favorably. It wasn't uncommon for Greeks to hold positions of prestige in the South until in the later when the locals sort of balanced things out. Most of my dad's teachers in high school were ethnic Greeks. The Catholics had it the worst of all as they were the fiercest anti-communists in Albania.
