Jovanovic called ministers ‘criminals’

Cedomir Jovanovic yesterday filed a criminal lawsuit to the prosecutor for fight against organized crime. Jovanovic’s lawsuit on ‘criminal uniting’ is against ‘Delta’ owner Miroslav Miskovic, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, five ministers and six editors. At the same time, the Fourth municipal prosecution claims to be studying accusations that Miskovic made against Jovanovic regarding Miskovic’s abduction in 2001.
The ministers named in Jovanovic’s lawsuit (Dragan Jocic, Predrag Bubalo, Mladjan Dinkic and Slobodan Milosavljevic) are threatening with lawsuits against Jovanovic.
Goran Ilic, Professor of the Faculty of Law in Belgrade says for ‘Blic’ that in mutual Miskovic-Jovanovic accusations there is little of criminal substance and much more of political background. So the question is if courts shall be able to do anything.
As regards Jovanovic’s lawsuit, Professor Ilic says that everything is in the hands of the Special prosecution that is to decide if there are elements enough for launching of an investigation.
‘At first sight it seems rather difficult to prove that Miskovic and representatives of the authority were in a criminal tie. From the point of law that is rather vague and it is to be seen if Jovanovic’s lawsuit contains some other more concrete proofs’, Professor Ilic says.
USA Embassy: Document not authentic
American Embassy in Belgrade yesterday denied authenticity of the document in which it is claimed that a proposal by ‘Delta’ owner Miroslav Miskovic was made to that embassy suggesting that Miskovic can make influence on Serbia Government to moderate its stance over Kosovo in return for the removal of his name from the American visa black list, that ‘Blic’ yesterday showed.
‘That is not an authentic document of the American Embassy. It is not known to us that such offer was made and even if it had been made, we would have not taken it into consideration’, Tanjug was told at the USA Embassy.
Vojvodina: 200 members left LDP
More than 200 of LDP members in Novi Sad, Becej and Beocin have left that political party. Any relation between their leaving and the actual attacks on LDP president has been denied with remark that ‘neither side is innocent’ in Miskovic-Jovanovic conflict.
In a covering letter to Jovanovic, obstruction of party’s work in Vojvodina and ‘Jovanovic’s incompetence and chameleon behavior’ are mentioned as reasons for leaving of the party.
