Belgrade – Pilot of ‘El Al Cargo’ plane that was carrying dangerous easy inflammable load contacted all fussy the Belgrade Airport on Sunday afternoon and requested forced landing. The control tower gave the green light since fire alarm was activated on board of ‘Boeing 747 200’, ‘Blic’ learns.
There was a five-member crew in the plane. After thorough check it was found that the alarm was false.
It is interesting that a plane of the same type, of the same carrier and on the same Amsterdam-Tel Aviv flight crashed on October 4, 1992 shortly after take of from ‘Chipol’ airport killing 43 individuals that were in the building hit by the plane and three crew members on board. The load of that plane has remained secret until today. The Israeli admitted that the plane transported 190 liters of a chemical that can be used in production of a nerve gas. The Israeli Government claimed that non-toxic material was in question.
Media in the Netherlands, however, reported that the plane was carrying dangerous chemical substances that had been sent from the USA to the Institute for biological researches near Tel Aviv. Shortly after the crash, experts in special suits and equipment came to the scene but the black box has never been found. Media in the Netherlands were reporting that among the rescuers there were also members of the Israeli secret service. According to the Dutch Government’s report 300 people are suffering from health problems even today.
Mysterious load
Belgrade Airport confirmed yesterday that the Israeli cargo plane was transporting among other things ‘easily inflammable and corrosive liquids’. However, it is still not known what actually the ‘El Al Cargo’ plane was carrying.
