There are many Turks who went back to Turkey after the fall of the Ottoman Empire who are of Balkanic descent and are called muhajir.
My family calles themselves Turks, and came from Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Selanik and also Bursa. There are Turks in Turkey who claim their ancestry as Albanian, Bosnian, etc., b/c they are of those ethnic groups. But it is also probable that my family may have intermarried with people in those countries.
Sometimes Turkish people are shocked that we don't look Turkish with blue eyes and blonde hair. However, there are many Turks who also don't look like the typical Turk either.
I truly believe that we are all brothers & sisters, and are all related with one another.
Does anyone from the Balkans have any Turkish heritage as well?

What he is trying to say is that many of "Turks" in the Balkans were Natives that basically wanted into the fast lane of Ottoman society so they took on the Turkish religion and name. Your blood is most likely Balkan however.
