So in Europe, we had empires. Everyone had them - France and Spain and Britain and Turkey! The Ottoman Empire, full of furniture for some reason. And the Austro-Hungarian Empire, famous for f**k all! Yes, all they did was slowly collapse like a flan in a cupboard.

who is this Eddie Izzard?
Austria-Hungary was a cool state in its time the minority rights were good compared to other states, the majority of the most beautiful buildings were built that time, they had a high quality education (guess where did your Tesla study.. ), it also had a good economical growth rate, what else do you want.. it was not worser than the other multiethnic states created on its ruins thats 100% sure.
And Hungarians were quite equal to the Austrians, only serious discrimination was that in the common K.u.K. army the German was the language of command but it was a necessity..

Even Polish say that Austro-Hungary was the best rule they have been under. The only obligation was to pay their taxes.

The only obligation was to pay their taxes. And do military service of course. My grandfather was drafted by the Austro-Hungarian army, that's why he left northern Bukovina.

A typical romanian....a coward and deserter First of all, my grandfather realized that war is stupid and doesn't solve anything. Secondly, who the hell would want to die fighting to preserve an empire that isn't even your own. It wasn't in his interest to defend the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
