NOVI SAD -- A minority representative will stand for election for the first time since multi-party elections were introduced.

It will also be the first time that Vojvodina’s Hungarian parties have got behind a single candidate - Ištvan Pastor - while they also announced better cooperation at future elections.
At the presidential ballot, Pastor will represent a coalition consisting of the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM), the Democratic Community of Vojvodina Hungarians (DZVM) and the Democratic Party of Vojvodina Hungarians.
It will be the first time that the parties will have come together since the break-up of the DZVM in the early nineties.
While there were earlier attempts to bring Vojvodina’s Hungarian parties closer, they failed because of poor communication between their respective leaders. With the departure of Jožef Kase from the head of the SVM, the path is clear for the parties to join forces now.
Besides the presidential election, the three parties have come to an agreement over joint participation at future parliamentary elections.
Vojvodina Hungarian leaders cited as the main reasons for their reunification poor showings at the last parliamentary vote and a drop in ratings because of internal rifts.
They claim that cooperation will continue beyond the presidential election, and that the parties will, in future, stand as a coalition.
However, analysts believe that future cooperation will depend on Pastor’s showing at this month's presidential elections.
Serbia is kuked, now they got Hungarians all up their ^%&^* demanding autonomy!! It's about time.. ;Dl
