During Gas Shortage – They Steal Gas Water Heaters With this week`s thefts of gas water heaters, when everyone fights for electric heaters, Croatian thieves proved their stupidity.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - Just like that old joke about selling ice to an Eskimo, Croatian thieves have become famous. During the biggest wave of the energy crisis which hit Croatia, when millions of people are freezing in neighbouring countries due to gas shortages, which is a serious threat in Croatia as well, gas water heaters are “hot goods” for Croatian thieves!
Namely, unidentified (meaning absolutely profane) perpetrators stole gas water heaters last week on two occasions. The first incident occurred in Cerje near Samobor when a burglar broke into a home which was being constructed, and the other took place in Zagreb`s Malesnica quarter, where also an unidentified perpetrator stole a gas hot water tank from an apartment.
Unfortunately, there is a third similar case: when an unidentified robber broke into a family home in Pescenica quarter, they stole nine gas bottles.
When we were to paraphrase the title of a famous American film, then in this case, it would be Dumb and Dumber and Dumbest.
The most interesting question now is: who will buy the stolen goods on the black market? Are there more stupid buyers?

An armed robber was arrested after he held up a bank - and returned minutes later to pay off his overdraft. A man ran into a bank in Nova Varos, Serbia, wearing a balaclava and brandishing a shotgun and demanded tellers hand over their cash. He got the equivalent of $77,000 and ran off. Staff were still recovering from the shock when he returned, without his balaclava, wanting to settle his overdraft. Police said the man had been wearing distinctive bright red trainers and everyone had noticed them. (Source: Ananova.com)
