The Da Vinci Code Part II Is there a Hidden meaning in Croatia's coat of arms? Can anyone pick it? Take a closer look at the first symbol in the crown above the sahovnica. No, its not a reference to Islam ... hate to burst your bubble. Still cant figure it out. ?? Well officially it represents the 'oldest known coat of arms of the Croatian people'. Zvijezda Danica and the crescent moon. Often contributed to the city of Zagreb as well. ..... ... .. . Well - amongst the movements which were created around the time of the rise of modern Croatian nationalism, Yugoslavism (originally a Croatian idea) - there was Illyrianism. The Illyrian movement had a south-slav unification idea which would probably lead to Croats dominating the other "south-slavs" in this case "illyrians". They believe that all of the people of the given region were actually Illyrian or decedents of etc. The Illyrian movement picked the symbol which is the first symbol in the grb of RH (today) as their symbol - because Illyrian 'history' teaches that all Illyrians came from one place - which they considered to be Bosna - they claimed that Bosna is where Illyrian civilization started rolling - thus the symbol they would pick would be that of the last Bosanska Kraljevina - which was ruled by the Kotromanovic dynasty (Croatians). That was the symbol of midevil Bosna - however, people seem to confuse the Liljani as the symbol of midevil Bosna; but the reality is is that the liljani represent a ruling family and not the actual Kingdom. When the designer was making the new Grb, to make it more aesthetically appealing - they changed the White background of Dubrovnik OR Ragusa to blue - and they changed the Red background of "Bosna" to blue too. Therefore, the first crown, actually represents Bosna.Grb Bosne

I think Tudjman was a Catholic Serb, because Serbs also like to use old Bosnian symbols on thier national flag:

The big mystery is the 2 black kings who also appear on some African symbols, hopefully the Bosnian pyramids will revel the secret connection that will confirm the theory about the Egyptian civilizations Bosnian roots.

So the crescent moon in the sahovnica means bosna, which in turn the bosnians used it to represent their islamic roots.
doesn't that in turn represent islam in the sahovnica?

Its nerve crushing for some overly-religious Catholics from Croatia to admit any Islam showing in Croatia. Remember back in the 90s when a Muslim girl Lejla from Dubrovnik won Miss Croatia and then all sorts of shit started going wrong because hardcore Catholics in Croatia couldn't stand the fact that someone from a (minority) religion in Croatia is supposed to represent them? They showed their true colors then.
Anyway, this is not all Croats of course, its just basically shitheads like Cikola and such.

LOL!!!
The first coat of arms is coat of arms of Illyria and represents Zagreb not Bosnia. If you actually take some time and look at those pictures posted above you will see that. Bosnia was represented in only one place with the variation of the Illyria coat of arms as per the ideology of the Illyrian movement.
P.S. The coat of arms of Illyria has an 8 pointed star. It was replaced by a 6 pointed star as in coat of arms of Zagreb.

Tudo's grb is like an animal farm. It only represents a part of Croatia and has to for political reasons. A real Croatian emblem representing all Croatian territory ( including BiH, parts of Slovenia, eastern Srijem - parts of Backa, and the northern coast of Montenegro) would not be readily accepted by the West.
