Jannisary "I am a Turk? and I can not say anything? " ----------------------------------------------------------------- Listen mate how life is: Americans cannot blaim somebody for using Atomic bomb today. They did it first. So.. when discussion comes to Atomic bombs its better Belgians or Dutch or anybody in the world do the talking... except Americans. That is what polite manners impose.
In case of Turkey and mistreatment of minorities... do you find it logical (or even polite)... TURKEY do the talking?! Its a field of play that a Turk should let others do the talking...
"It was not 35 Greeks, but 36. Their double decker bus was set on fire by a mentally ill person some 18 years ago." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nobody doubts the person was not mentally ill. What comes in discussion is ... what circumstance guided this mentally ill person.. who lives everyday in a country of 70 million people... to choose as victims 36 tourists from Greece in a given moment. In other words.... who armed his hand and his sick mind against foreigners "bad Christian ready to harm Turkey" foreigners.
"Will we talk about Greece or Turkey here" -------------------------------------------------------- No. But we talk about incidents against tourists as the Headline says.... and you... come to blaim Greece before even you think the 36 DEAD tourists in Tourkey... Oxymoron... dont you agree? --------------------------------------------------

Spirit of Tartary, Do you think it is okay to allow the cultural genocide by Fyromians of their Bulgarian, Albanian, Vlach, Albanian, Turk, and the 2.8 million Greek Macedonians? Is this something that you agree with? Because truly it would be a tragedy to allow such uncultured and uncouth people to destroy the culture of the Balkans and the Mediterranean. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WALMART OF EUROPEAN ETHNIC GROUPS. THE MCDONALDS OF RESTAURANTS. It is hard to agree upon the notions you stress.

A mentally ill person killed the Greeks, that was terrible. After 1991, more and more Greeks started to visit Turkey, and they had nice memories back in Greece. In Greece, things go rough lately, wont you admit?

"In Greece, things go rough lately, wont you admit? " No rougher than most other European countries. I think some of the events that have unfolded in Greece lately just prove that the Greeks are still courageous and expect good things fromt their government. If the Greek government does not act in accordance with the standards of the Greek people CITIES WILL BURN. Lets just hope the government does a good job.

yes. I agree too with this comment. For example the incidinents in France 2 ago were 10 times worst than Greece. Of course Americans "forgot" in the case of Paris to say to "American travelers to be careful".... like they did in the case of Athens:)
But even if we take under account the problems in Greece.... dont forget that this was something internal!. It had nothing to do with foreigners of tourists etc. It was Greeks who disagree with Greek government due to economic or other political reasons. I see no resemblance with the incidents we discuss here now.

I think things will get worse in Greece due to the problems arising from other EU countries. Who knows? Perhaps I am mistaken.

I think " such imbalance" is emerging in all EU countries including Greece.

You kind of have to admit that Europe is extremely stable compared to much of the world. Don't you think? Europe is still progressing and moving forward.

Europe is still progressing and moving forward. Every nation might, but what would be the cost recovery? I think it will be quite high for the EU members.
