"Kosovo Security Force" established
The "Kosovo Security Force" (KSF), a new structure trained by NATO, will become operational on Jan 21, when the "Kosovo Protection Corps" (KPC) will formally cease to exist.
(KosovoCompromise Staff) Tuesday, January 20, 2009
The new security forces, envisaged by Martti Ahtisaari's controversial plan, would consist if 2,5000 active members and 800 reservists carrying small arms, which Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu hopes will make the "foundation of a future army of Kosovo." The campaign for recruiting members will be opened for all Kosovo inhabitants as of Tuesday and will initially run until Feb 14. The KSF commander will be former commander of the Kosovo protection Corps Sulejman Seljimi. The units will be equipped with small arms, and their first task will be to take part in crisis situations and civil protection. The new KSF members will obtain uniforms from the United States, vehicles from Germany and the training will be carried out by Great Britain. The training course will begin in Vucitrn on February 2. The creation of KSF is strongly disputed by Belgrade and the Kosovo Serbs.

Its about time .....
The creation of KSF is strongly disputed by Belgrade and the Kosovo Serbs.
....and another UNACCEPTABLE I presume ;D ;D
you and I know that the right thing to do is for belgrade to promote the kosovar serbs to join up and be part of it ...or else don't complain later on
its gonna happen with em or without em ....
the doors have always been open for Kovova serbs and sometime open a bit to much imo ....but they make the mistake of boycotting and complaining bcs the take their music/dance lessons from belgrade ...
Kosova has always asked the kosovar serbs to run with em ....but they chose otherwise ....it will backfire on em ...
Pristina has done back flips to accommodate kosovar serbs ...its in black & white since independence..

I think he means re-established. The Parasites just handed in their KLA emblems for KSF emblems.

Re-established with what? small arms, as the article states. the foundation of a future army? lol its a token gesture: a failed state with no international credibility, 60% unemployment, a corrupt gov't, with a token 'military' carrying small arms - easily defeatable by any army

I propose their first battle training to be set in northern Kosova. Will be good training for future international missions.

Now a sad story thanks to Belgrade and their Serbian democracy. Weekly publishes KSF ad, editor suspended21 January 2009 | 15:39 -> 17:55 | Source: B92 BELGRADE -- An editor that allowed a Kosovo security force, KSF, ad to go into print has been suspended, the Ministry of Culture has announced. Weekly Jedinstvo, a state-funded paper distributed in Kosovo, published the advertisement calling for recruits to the Kosovo security forces. Under a photograph of an Albanian, a Serb and a Turkish woman, a caption reads “We need all of you”. The publishing sparked a reaction in parliament on Wednesday, with Serb Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikoliæ calling on the government to sack the Jedinstvo editorial team over the matter. “Publishing that kind of advertisement in a paper financed by the government and which is not funded by readership, advertising or sponsorships, is unacceptable, imprudent and irresponsible,” Nikoliæ told journalists in parliament. Socialist Party of Serbia MP Dejan Radenkoviæ said that no Serb should be manipulated or join the Kosovo Security Forces. “It’s quite simply unacceptable and is an issue for the minister; this paper is financed by the state and I think that when this paper comes down to the people, it could cause confusion and consternation, because if you start to read it, you have state officials, and, at the end, you have the adverts. Maybe it was paid for, but it’s simply unacceptable,” Radenkoviæ fumed. Top state officials have commented on the new force in Kosovo describing it as "unacceptable". www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2009&mm=01&dd=21&nav_id=56581

When KFOR leaves Kosovo (if even that is in 20 years time) I am pretty sure they will develop KSF stronger than that of Serbia's or on the same level to defend itself. There is no chance Serbia is having a war with KSF.

Your buddeis in Serbia dont see it that way. LMAO! No one in the world with a brain thinks that Shqiptars are a formidable fighting force. Whenever people (as in people with brains and knowledge of the area) consider the possibility of war in Kosovo, they think Serbs versus NATO. Shqiptars aren't even taken into account. Just face it that your "heroes" are not only corrupt, evil and despicable but also incapable of fighting an actual war without a tremendous amount of foreign help... and even then they suck pretty bad.

You are still young, so I dont blame you for your ridiculous post. An army cant with one day become operational as a full functional army. It takes time, thats why its called security force and not armed forces. Comparing Serbia with Kosovo is like comparing Turkey with Serbia, you get the picture? However, Kosovo is recognized by 54 states, meaning all of them could help Kosovo with arms and equipment if so needed, as Croatia got help. Serbia wouldnt go to war today having reduced its armed forces to 1/3 it had prior to -99.

I told you edit, the KSF will be left policing alb-populated parts with their 3000 pistols which wont be able to stop even a lightly armed Serbian artillery when Res 1244 is implemented around the time the S. STREAM is consolidated, Serb gov't opposition to the KSF is just a diplomatic smokescreen to keep you edit confused
