Spanish socialists: Kosovo is independent only on paper
One of the leaders of Spain’s governing socialists and a member of the European Parliament, Elena Valenciano, said Madrid does not consider any changes to its decision not to recognize Kosovo.
(KosovoCompromise Staff) Tuesday, August 05, 2008
"It is unacceptable that the rules of international law are ignored depending on determined conjunctures. We do not believe in that kind of behaviour", said Valenciano.
Therefore, she emphasized that Kosovo "is only independent on paper" because it is a country "totally controlled by military and civil forces of foreign countries".
Concerning the stay of the Spanish troops in Kosovo, she said that "it is one thing not to recognize the independence and another thing not willing to contribute to the Balkans' security" with a mission based on UN Security Council resolution 1244.
Only if the Council modifies that rule, she said, Spain will consider its situation.

The anti independance lobby has finally found its voice. Seems to me that the international balance of power is beginning to shift.

Yea... nice going, among socialist parties.... PS: This isn the first time a socialist party has voiced its anger over the decision. They are just pissed off cuz their blood still comes out of their ass from the raping that occurred 10 years ago.

spain.... The wasteland of Europe until 2004. Very little influence in the world. Afterall, they are being misleaded because the Basks WERE once Spanish themselves... Completely different story to Kosovo and Serbia V's Spain and the Basque region.

^ Albanians are worried so now they are trying to belittle a country they know nothing about.
Its not like they have any reason to worry... at the moment.

This is not appropriate for a serb forum to contain such a low quality sentences (and people).

Completely different story to Kosovo and Serbia V's Spain and the Basque region. To the question, how can a nation of Spanish=(visigoths+latins+celts+arabs) to be transformed into a nation whose language is still a puzzle for all modern glossologists/linguistics, only the ancient holders of wisdom - THE ALBIES - can answer.

Exactly, Spanish is a nationality not a ethnicity, the Basques are one strange tribe

If Spain supported independance Albanians would be praising them. Its like when they thought Sri Lanka recognized them, they full said thanks and said they are important etc then when they found out it wasnt sri lanka but another country they dissmissed Sri lanka as being small and poor Same as the 54 islamic nations. Right after the declaration of independance they were already counting 54 recognitions and when they didnt get them, all you hear is "we dont need those islamic terrorists, we arent religous anyways".

Actually im glad that islamic countries werent the first countries to recognise Kosova, if they were the firs ones then there would be islamic propaganda spreaded allover buy serbs, and i wish that they will be the last ones to recognise so the world would see that serbianna and such bullcrap bitter liers are indeed nothing but liers!. Basks need their own country.
