PREŠEVO -- A Serbian Orthodox church near Preševo, in southern Serbia, has been desecrated, a SPC statement says. The church, dedicated to St. George, has been broken into, the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) reported on its website, pinning the blame on ethnic Albanians in the region. "Albanian terrorists have committed a grave crime against the Serb people and our spiritual and cultural heritage on the most joyous of Christian holidays, Christmas, by desecrating the church in Oraovica," the SPC said. It remains unclear whether the case was reported to the police. The unknown vandals have broken into the church to desecrate it, having previously ripped out the cross from the temple's roof. The SPC also said that "after 1996 and the expulsion of Serbs from Oraovica, Albanian extremists desecrated a Serb cemetery in the village." Oraovica's 3,800 residents are all ethnic Albanians. The village is located two kilometers north of Preševo. The region borders with the administrative line with Kosovo. www.b92.net/eng/news/crimes-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=01&dd=10&nav_id=46839

Whoever done this timed it perfectly to enrage people, Cool heads are needed now and the police need to make this priority one, First find who done this and then lock them up for a very long time.
To whichever extremist group done this Serb or Albanian JEBEM VAM MATER

Hardly seems fitting to have an Serbian orthodox Church where Albanian who are most probably Muslim, live. And Im very suspicious about the church representatives wording of the way Serbs left the area.

^ well there used to be a serbian community there but they were chased out by albanians during the presevo valley conflict. so the church is still there, but that doesnt mean that the church should be rid of just because serbs arent living there anymore. old historical buildings should be respected, especially places of worship

I didnt say that it should be rid of. But I am well aware of the typical Balkan method of building churches and mosques in zones as simple political statements.
Thats what the SOC rep said.

Things are becoming uglier by the minute.
If its one thing I can sense is that the serbs are now begining to feel like their backs are against the wall, in much the same manner as during the Second World War. It seems that the last spark needed to motive the Serbs is just around the corner, but this time, it will be for keeps. The Albanians have taken this one step to many in the wrong direction. No wonder the Serbs don't care about the EU or NATO. Mobilization I fear, may have already begun but under secrecy. With Thaci now threatening again to declare independance soon, this will be the catalyst. Stand by for a new war and watch NATO hide in camp bondsteel. Its all about unravel.
