Can someone translate? Does this mean Bosnian Croats get state funded television?

^ Yes. Bosnian Croats previously couldn't watch television due to a language barrier but now they'll get to watch a channel in Croatian. Thank goodness, crises averted!

Does this mean Muslims will stop using Croatian words on the 'Bosnian' channels?

It's not a matter of understanding. It's a matter of not getting indoctrinated with Bosnian words. Most Bosnian Croats, for example, say 'sedmica' instead of 'tijedan' and this pisses off the Herzegovina Croats. They know what both words mean, but they want every Croat to use the Croat version. When you're a minority its hard to keep your language pure. Having your own TV channel is considered a big step in achieving that for the future generations.

I can understand that, but once again, Federalna TV uses more 'Croatian' language then anything and I don't see any Bosniaks complaining. Granted, Hayat is mainly a Bosniak channel so its only fair FBIH grants Croats their own channel. I have Bosniak friends from BanjaLuka who say 'kruh' instead of hljeb, it doesn't bother me one bit.

^ It's not a matter of a "Language Barrier", but a matter of principle. The Croats want to separate, and get their own piece of BiH, and this is the way it starts.

What's the big deal of getting a station in your own "proper" language. Malcomlm Fraser, one of Australia's Prime Ministers; government at the time establish a station called SBS. A station for all multicultures, he was a forward thinker. So why can't this work in Bosna?

Its called equality. According to the constitution all 3 are equal, yet only 1 dont have a station in their language.

It is just a distraction from the real problems that plague BiH, it is easier to focus on this instead of what is really keeping Bosnia from moving forward.

These are the kind of distractions you can expect when people who don't want to live together are forced to live together... it's like an unhappy married couple fighting over the TV remote or other symbolic things instead of working together to make, save money and buy something nice down the road.
And what are the proposed solutions:
Serbs want divorce Croats want a retroactive pre-nuptial agreement Bosniaks threaten throwing you out of the house if you don't accept living in it
Who sounds the craziest there? ;D

A station for all multicultures, he was a forward thinker. So why can't this work in Bosna? Well, theres a couple problems and its especially bad for Bosnia. Someone else said : If things were equal , all things considered, then there would be no state funded program to cater to a specific ethnic group of any stock. How can it be equal when taxes are drawn from every citizen required to pay them regardless of ethnicity but then spent on catering to only one or two of those ethnic groups? Is this not theft followed by a bit of discrimination? This is the whole problem with 'public airwaves' in the first place. If whoever of whatever group wanted to pay a private company to broadcast specific content I see no problem with this. So long viewing remains voluntary without coercion maybe it can be worked.

We can call them hippies trying to keep the country together somehow. ;D

lol @ mapko and cikola, yes I agree with you!!! stickinthemud, well that's what happened under communism, money attained collectivley from people used for one specific region or to benefit the the people who sold out. However if they are funding it themselves (eg if I wanted to become a broadcaster there I could, bring the money and ideas and bang all newTV station), what's the problem and why won't it work as you said, give me an example? I don't see the issue; it's like saying oh we won't spend money on this church or that mosque or this school etc...jesus get on with it.
