Wrong... Italy is, Greece comes in at second and will soon find competition with other EU nations, more recently Austria. Many of these are buying out what were originally Greek firms. Not only that but now the immigration has not only slowed down, but in many areas it has actually reversed (meaning Albanians are taking the money they made and returning to Albania to build their business), atlest according to a Selanik University study. Within the next 10 yrs. it will pick up even moreso and youll have to increasingly look for the next community to discriminate and abuse. Perhaps soon it will be Africans, Arabs and Afghans. Learn to say Wasalamu-Aleykum. This isnt the 90's anymore Leandros, things are changing fast... and will continue to do so within your very own lifetime. And I can say thankfully, when Albs return to Albania, they rarely have nice things to say about Greeks. They strengthen our dislike of your people.

The conquered Greeks during the time of the Ottoman empire called themselves 'Roman' while you called yourselves Ottoman, because of your common faith and barbarism.

Wrong! Albanians have called their self during the ottoman times as Shqipetars, and Ottomans have called Albanians as Arnavutlar!.
But why greeks dident call their selfs Hellens during Byzantine and Ottoman times? thats a huge period of time, Hellen term was forgotten untill western historians...

The consciousness of the modern Greek of his classical ancestry is a product of Western scholarship.

Greeks where the first people of the Roman empire to become citizens and advance through the political ranks. They where easily integrated into the Roman Empire because of the previous Hellenistic era. The teachers of the Romans where the Greeks, just like the Byzantine Greeks taught the Italians just before the Renaissance. There is no shame in calling one self a Roman, especially when we still spoke the language of our ancient Greek ancestors. Greek Orthodox religion and loyalty to the Roman/ Byzantine emperor was all that mattered during the middle ages. You on the other hand, stabbed us in the back by converting to Islam and fighting alongside the Turks. You have no right calling Leandros Nikon a Turk especially since his ancestors fought the Turks unlike your Albanian ancestors. Western travelers called you 'TurkAlbanians' this was later coined by Greeks.

You seem not to understand that there was no continuous war going on when greek speaking lands became officialy part of ottoman empire from 14th century all the way till 1821, analyze little bit, if the turks had such power holding greek speaking lands as part of their empire then they they also had the power to easily wanish the greeks from the face of the earth, greeks behaved very good in ottoman times.

The consciousness of the modern Greek of his classical ancestry is a product of Western scholarship. Western scholars waltz into the balkans 100 years ago.... my grandfather was born in 1875... he and his grandfather before him, called themselves Hellens..... we remained as such...by keeping close to our chest the writings of Homer,Aristotle and all the other great Greek thinkers.... then we past it on to these Western scholars so we can educate them. Our Alphabet and our country tells a story about us... Now give me something solid to bite on,on the whereabouts of Albanians before the Turks came into the foray... so far no one here is capable of doing that.... past 1100... for crying out loud the Turks history goes farther back then yours... Now give me 100 innernet buckeroos for the lesson in humility. ;D
