I d say the most truthful name should be "Southwest Bulgaria trying to be a northwest Greece" I know its long but it is the closest to the historic truth.

Hey, I know. How about "The Republic of Macedonia". Yeah! AWESOME!!! I am so good. ;D Its not appropriate. Macedonians were Greek tribe, not to mention that in FYROM there is small land from the ancient Macedonia. So u even dont live on the Alex land. Your land lies in the land of the Peonians, who most probably were Thracian tribe. If u dont want to accept you are Bulgarians, maybe u should call it Peonia.

My, you are so thoughtful to think that this land is mine. Of course it is. Its the land of the fyrom, this new interesting "nation". I m talking about the land of Fyrom. I dont know if u feel connected to it. U used to be. Or at least the forefathers of your mother. At least they said so. Any document from around the begining of 20th century mentions the fyroms as Bulgarians, they thought of themselves as Bulgarians and nothing else. Maybe in the future u will or you children will. U were thought to think u are not, thats why u probably arent at this moment. Interesting? in the middle ages there were no fyrom history, it was the history of Bulgaria, cause they were one and the same. They are today too, though fyroms are thought to deny it, but maybe its for the better. Of course u dont feel. The fyrom history books are filled with hatred towards us, cause there are people interested in seeing us devided.

ioan - maybe you should quit insulting other people's cultures and look at your own. I am insulting fyrom history? Sorry If I did. I didnt know I did. I always thought that history lies on FACTS and I was stating FACTS. Facts are that fyrom people stated they are Bulgarian. Fiction and not fact was what its said in fyrom books: that they werent Bulgarians. I respect others history when they have one which means there have to be HISTORIC references to those people. But what did all the artefacts said about the fyrom people: they stated they were Bulgarians. I dont know really. We have slavic language, but in my oppinion the Bulgarians are healthy mixture of Thracians, Slavs and Bulgars. Slavic was our official language, actually our king Boris made it first in Bulgaria, so we are technically the first Slavic country, state. The thracians and the Bulgars were slavisized. You mean TURKIC probably? Its not known. You probably refer to the Bulgars. Bulgars came and settled in nowadays Bulgaria and NOWADAYS FYROM. They had their own language. From the small writings they left, most linguists think they were turkic and others think they were Persians. Actually most names can be really understood if we translate it in Persian (Asparuch who created Bulgaria means White Rider in Persian.). Some think they were mixed people. No one really is 100 percent sure what they were. Actually the EXACT title was "KANASUBIGI" at least that is what is saved in writing. By the way, again in Persian it means "ruler from god". All other titles they used were greek (at least in the left writings). So the quest goes on.
