SDA backs Inzko regarding Bosnian Serbs 18/06/2009
SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) -- Leaders of the Bosnian Party of Democratic Action (SDA) held an extraordinary session Wednesday (June 17th) to discuss Republika Srpska (RS)'s latest move. The RS parliament refuses to withdraw its resolution obliging entity institutions and officials to oppose any future transfer of power to BiH. The resolution was published Monday in the Official Gazette, despite calls from High Representative Valentin Inzko to drop it. He argues the resolution violates both the Dayton Peace Accord and BiH's constitution. The SDA presidency unanimously supported leader Sulejman Tihic, who refused to attend a meeting with the main political parties in Banja Luka. The talks were part of the so-called "Prud Process", which calls for regular meetings among key leaders. (Fena, Dnevni Avaz, Srna - 17/06/09)

www.europeanvoice.com/article/imported/constitutional-reform-under-threat/65207.aspxConstitutional reform under threatBy Toby Vogel 18.06.2009 / 05:12 CET Constitutional reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina is under threat, according to the international community's envoy. The future of constitutional reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina hangs in the balance after the parliament of Republika Srpska, the Serb-dominated half of Bosnia, failed to meet an 11 June deadline to rescind a law it passed in May reclaiming powers from the central government. The deadline was set by Valentin Inzko, the EU's and international community's envoy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, who believes the country's constitutional set-up needs reform. Taking back powers Although Inzko has the power to quash laws if they violate the Dayton peace accords of 1995, the Republika Srpska parliament refused to budge and, on 12 June, Milorad Dodik, the region's prime minister, said nothing could stop Republika Srpska from taking back those powers. Inzko, who is the EU's special representative and head of the Office of the High Representative (OHR), has so far taken no action. An observer suggested that Inzko felt he lacked the backing of the OHR's steering board, most of whose European member governments oppose the use of his extensive powers. These include the right to dismiss elected officials, such as Dodik. Dodik's defiance prompted Sulejman Tihic´, the moderate leader of the mainly Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) Party of Democratic Action, to pull out of a meeting on constitutional reform scheduled for 14 June. “I cannot see an atmosphere at all for an agreement and for compromise,” he said. It is unclear whether Tihic´ will now pull out of the entire process for constitutional reform, the EU's last-best hope of bringing Bosnia to a level of stability where a membership application is realistic. Tihic´ said that Dodik had “negated the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its laws, institutions, constitution, as well as all the reforms that we have implemented and are to implement”. The situation has exposed the EU's envoy to what appears to be open mockery by the Bosnian Serbs. In a statement on 11 June, Inzko had praised the Republika Srpska assembly's “rational decision” not to publish the May law in the official gazette – only to find it published on 15 June. The decision came into force the following day. Diplomats expect that Inzko will now have to take action against Republika Srpska. ? EU foreign ministers agreed on Monday (15 June) that the Commission should proceed with plans to abolish visa requirements for countries in the western Balkans that meet certain technical criteria. According to a Commission assessment, Macedonia has already met the benchmarks, with Serbia and Montenegro close to doing so. Albania and Bosnia, however, are struggling to meet the conditions in time to be included in the first wave of visa-free travel, which could start later this year.

At least today we'll see the real intentions of the IC in the country.
You mean the one where in it's heart you probably get shot waving a Serb flag?

Heart of Serbia according to some nationalists, not according to common sense.
Nevertheless Serbia is a functional country, and that's what matters. Bosnia isn't capable of running an ice cream stand.

A Serb complaining about others bitching is an oxymoron.
When Serbia will pass 1/10 of what Bosnia passed, than you'll be able to make comparisons.

Tudjman is dead and you live in Australia. It must have been real tough for you fighting the war all the way from your living room in Australia. f*g.
Regarding this situation in BiH, the West is acting like a frustrated little child since they are slowly losing the grip ($$$). I read that the BRIC nations are negotiating to drop the dollar as the global trading currency. That would certainly accelerate the american slide towards significantly reduced global influence.
Given the fact that the West was able to do f**k ALL regarding North Korea, Iran, Georgia, Russian Gas monopoly in Europe, Emerging world economies BRIC, the collapsing economy...etc they certainly appear to be sticking to the small game (BiH, Kosovo) which other than Iraq are the only places they still appear to have a say.
I am giving it a top of 5 years before the plug is pulled on BiH's artificial life. Muslims in the mean time are encouraged to continue spending aid money in building useless religious objects that nobody benefits from. The goal has not yet been reached as not every street has a mosque.
With Tehran like lifestyle the bosnian muslims certainly are set for a EU entry, just like their big brothers (the turks) who have been sitting on the candidate status for a whopping 22 years now.

You Serbs seriously have no sense.
"Artificial" is something called Republika Srpska. A territory that is not considered random only by people who drew up the plans for it. Everyone else sees it for what it is.
You see, if Serbs did not sell-out by doing this random action, BIH would have a very logical and frankly simple solution. But by selling-out, you lose your right to bring BIH down with you. Because bringing BIH down, means bringing other people down with you.
We are not afraid to fight you for BIH because we know you are cowards. You've lost Kosovo, Montenegro, and soon, if you keep going the way you are, you will lose the small piece of pie that you sliced for yourself.
I look forward to the day I personally force-feed you my beautiful 20cm of Bosniak meat.

You could say the same, if BiH Muslims didn't want to secede from YU then nothing would happen. We would have as good standard as Croatia. But hey muslims wanted what they wanted, and we want what we want simple as that. I don't care what Brussels have to say about it or what Biden has to say. And the people there don't care about them either. One way or another there will be a solution, RS is not the problem, the problems is Bosniaks focusing only at RS.
I don't understand how u can fail to see that. I mean its at least 40%+ people of Bosnia that wants to have RS. Look at Kosovo, its was against all got damn UN rules but still there u go.
What i want is not independence tomorrow, rather a good co-op between the people in a union, There should be a three entity's Croat,Serb,Bosniak under BiH. Then work together in every way possible. But no Bosniaks cant stand RS and Serbs wont let it go so easily.
I'm no professional politician but that to me seems quite realistic.

Croats definitely deserve an entity in BiH, if the Bosniaks and Serbs have one, it is only fair to give one to the Croats. Might I suggest that the Croat entity go from Prijedor to Brcko, after all, the land of north Bosnia was historically Croat, until there were some population migrations
