Maloney, Bilirakis support Greece-FYROM negotiationWASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, expressed support for the renewed UN-backed negotiations between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) in finding a mutually agreed upon resolution to the ongoing name dispute. Both countries met earlier this week in Geneva in talks hosted by the UN to continue discussions in an effort to reach a mutually-acceptable compromise on the name for the FYROM. UN Envoy Matthew Nimetz initiated the talks and will travel to both capitals, Skopje and Athens, in early July to meet with government officials. “The renewed U.N.-backed talks between Greece and FYROM are a welcome development, and I am hopeful that a peaceful resolution will be found,” Rep. Maloney said. “Macedonia is a Greek name that has designated the northern area of Greece for 2,500 years. These negotiations present an opportunity for both parties to reach a reasonable compromise that respects the historical and political realities surrounding this dispute.”Rep. Bilirakis said, “We look forward to Ambassador’s Nimitz’s visit to Skopje and Athens in the hopes of reaching an agreement that adheres to all previously signed agreements and U.N. resolutions – a name which is mutually agreed upon with Greece.”Background: Congresswoman Maloney and Congressman Bilirakis recently reintroduced legislation, H. Res. 486, which expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that the FYROM should stop the utilization of materials that violate provisions of the UN-brokered Interim Agreement between the FYROM and Greece regarding “hostile activities or propaganda” and should work with the United Nations and Greece to achieve longstanding United States and United Nations policy goals of finding a mutually-acceptable official name for the FYROM.maloney.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1880&Itemid=63

yeap.. these 2 seem to do their job very well. I know them from the previous years. They have balls.. to go against the line of US Foreign Office Bureau. They even make that American ambassador in Skopje (Bush's boy)... to loose his worlds... when they told hime he harms America with the line he follows..

The sooner the people of Varda aka Fyrom realize without an acceptable name solution with Greece no E.U and no Nato the more they'll get tired of their governments.

The sooner the people of Varda aka Fyrom realize without an acceptable name solution with Greece no E.U and no Nato the more they'll get tired of their governments. Practically they are in NATO. NATO vehicles cross the roads of FYROM anytime providing supplies to camp Bondsteel which is located half in Serbia (oops sorry basil i mentioned it gain... bad bad bad pyrros)/kosovo and half in FYROM. So Arxilleas its like the chicken and the egg problem, or maybe a infinite loop. Greece wants FYROM to comply with a mutual agreement in order for FYROM to enter NATO NATO on the other hand controls pretty much of the country, endorse the use of the word MAKEDONIA as much as they can, creating problems whenever fit, stealing other countries lands, etc... Its a deadlock. Its so obvious, its getting boring to analyze over and over again.

Nope they aren’t, they are…..say like being used like a w**re by Nato and the U.S and even by Turkey in order to come in and go when ever they wish, they were used by Nato as a launching pad for strikes against Serbia because it’s a puppet state while they never offered to help Serbia only dreamed about monkeydonia for the monkeydonians.
Sell outs.
And no they don’t have Nato protection. Off cource it's a dead lock, but the question is can they survive being isolated with no protection from Nato nor any prosperity from the E.U. We can veto them more then 60 ways / world organization or whatever you want to call them.
An honest question if I may. Would Serbia help them Pyros ?

An honest question if I may. Would Serbia help them Pyros ? . politically i have no idea. Culturally, spiritually, mannerisms, humor, music, mentality-wise they are the same ppl with serbs. Even in various "balls" (dances) "Zurke" in diaspora, FYROMAks always end up with the Serbs. Yugoslavia was a natural construct, a pole of stability in the region. It was destroyed only to create new problems. On think i tell you, they spent 200b $ to destroy yugoslavia, and 200b $ for loans and subsidies to greece (which excluding Egnatia and Attki Odos, they were "transformed" to BMW X5, Porche Cayenne, Lexus 450h, etc..) With 400$b if i am not mistaken they are aiming to save european banking system. its all about money. even brothers and sisters among us end up in courts just for a house their dad left them.

I don't think so. Financial aid in no way. We gave them few old tanks several years ago but that was it. Besides, public opinion in Bulgaria is strongly against fyromian politics at the moment.
Oops. And how comes probably 90% of their folklore is similar to that in Pirin Bulgaria?

Oops. And how comes probably 90% of their folklore is similar to that in Pirin Bulgaria? 90%% any special research for that? ;D Well, if you consider where Pirin is on the map that is very logical. However, dont tell me that their biggest folk hit "Belo Lence" sounds like a song from varna.... in varna 1st of all they would say "Byalo Lence" ;D ;D Add to this that pre-exarchate the folk songs seemed to demonstrate at least 5 cases (classic serbian feature), and you get the whole picture. PS Lets stop ruining the thread, i'll stop right here.

Pyrro, you are annoyingly stupid, like a gnat one can't get rid of. Bulgaria has different regional folklore, just as Greece has Cretan music or such from Thessaloniki. Pirin's music is one of the regional folklore and, strangley enough for you, it is identical to that of fyrom. You are not going to dispute that with me, are you? Do you want me and you to make a translation competition of these songs?
You go on with your ignorance. People in Pirin or Sofia would say it Belo Lenche, I would say it Byalo Lenche. Regional speech that is preserved in the folklore songs.

the audacity of pyrrovicka has reached critical levels, he is schooling bulgarians and serbs on their ethnicity, customs and folk traditions, is there no bounds to this cretin's incessant stupidity?

He is just warming up. Pretty soon the Balkans will be too narrow for his broad knowledge. I guess Pyrro will move his attention to the peculiarities of Scandinavian dialects.
