Not only Alexander the 3rd BUT his grand father Alexander 1, said he was Greek also. In Herodotus (Book 9, paragraph 45.2) Alexander I, king of Macedonia says: "... I myself am by ancient descent a Greek, and I would not willingly see Hellas change her freedom for slavery ..."

Insignificant. The Greek culture had taken over a wide area of that part of the world at that time. Insignificant. Many non-Greeks had adopted the Greek culture in those days.
Compare with American culture today, with one main difference. The American culture has taken over a much larger area than the Greek culture back in the time of Alexander the 1, his son and grandson.
Still, they were ancient Macedonians that had adopted the Greek culture.

Big deal. I know a Greek that ADMITS he is French because he had been involved in their culture all his life. His first language was French, and he speaks Greek, too. He does not feel Greek, but very much FRENCH. So what, Basil. Big deal. You and I know Albanians who ADMIT to being Greek. We know Greeks who ADMIT to being Albanian. I know people from France, Greece, Germany, Spain, Italy, Morocco, etc who ADMIT to being American only. So what, Basil. Big deal. May I ask you a question? Arent you the one who bases the right of the skopjans to be called Macedonians on their right of self-determination? Why for God's sake dont you grant then Alexander the Great this right? Not that it does play any role what you grant to whomever...just a simple question...

They are the Italians, the Iranians, the Jews, the Palestinians, the Egyptians etc etc etc You know.. its different to "adopt" a foreign culture... than "being a foreign culture".. ;D ;D Also.. yes.. even most of the Greeks have adopted the American culture today. TV helped in that. But.. in our graves... Greek would be the language. Have you any comment about the graves of Macedonians?

I am proud to have been born Greek... and not some savage looking for an identity.
For the last 2 weeks I have been researching my family geneology..... I am ecstatic to report that I can go back 1000 years with Greek surnames.... Yep all the way to around 850...... Hell yeah...life is a beech .... they there are the Greeks!
Canaris and thinking the year 850......>>>>>>>>No Albanians.... yeah baby!

But the international community agrees that Alexander was Macedonian, non-Greek.

We are speaking about Alexander the Great and his nationality. You are speaking about an entirely different subject matter.
And I did not grant anything to anyone.

Ok, the topic was indeed discussed to death, I lack to see why there is a need to go on proving things to slav d1ckheads who have a personal interest to make ALexander the Great a nongreek and thus will never accept the truth.
