Basileios I was not originally from Adrianoupolis...his family migrated into there. And since Adrianoupolis belonged to the Thema Makedonia (which had nothing to do with todays Macedonia, it was rather what we call Thraki today) when he became an Emperor his dynasty was called Makedonian. But he was neither what we call Macedonian today nor was he native to Adrianoupolis. His origins were from deep Asia Minor.
And of course next to the two requirements I called a third has to be added as you have suggested...loyalty to the Empire.

stitching together people ? sewing all together ? Was a custom for romans empire for using biza (awl) as a instrument and method for boring the slaves ear that made them serving forever under romans rule and command. That's why Myself Holy God Sun_MYSUS Christ called in albanian roman empire the byzantine. So, greeks fiasco definitely got trapped themselves in their own lies.

Byzantine empire as a term was invented buy Hieronymus Wolf*german historian and the term Byzantine was never used during the Roman empire time, It was simply a Roman empire an multi ethnic empire. Additionally, while the western part of the Roman Empire spoke Latin, with some Greek, the Eastern part never adapted with the Latin, and strictly spoke Greek.

Additionally, while the western part of the Roman Empire spoke Latin, with some Greek, the Eastern part never adapted with the Latin, and strictly spoke Greek. That would not explain the existance of the Romanians and the other Vlahs who live in Bulgaria, fyrom, Greece, Serbia, Croatia (are there any vlachs left there?). I think politically the heir of Byzantine empire is Greece. All the Bulgarian domestic sources described the Byzantine empire as the Greek empire, the "romans" (byzantine citizens) are often called just Greeks etc... I am sure there were other minorities living within the empire (Bulgarians, Albanians, Serbs, Vlahs...) but the majority was always Greek, the official language was Greek, in Magnaura school they were studing works of the ancient Hellenes.. etc... But if we have to say: who are the heirs of Byzantium culturally, except the Greeks, we have to add the Bulgarians, the Albanians, the Serbs and the Romanians: these are people, whose culture was deeply influenced by Byzantine culture...

Albanian and Byzantine are two diametrically opposed concepts.

^Of course they are..thank you..when one was finishing the other one was appearing... No, we were around since before the Byzantines. Just that we shook off that ugly kaur influence. We dont have Orthodog influence in our culture. We piss inside those structures, scribble on them. Half of the old mosques in Albania were built out of the stones of churches. Go to Shkoder in northern Albania and youll see at the peak of the castle is an old ruined mosque that is in the shape of a church. Unfotunately we still have some left. Which we need to eradicate inshallah... ;D

Im not going bother proving anything out of the mere fact that I do not consider you to be on an equal footing as me or Donnie here regarding historical issues and out of pure inat. So you can stop asking me to sink to your level. I have enough sense to accept your troll posts as regular by virtue of your little title as admin, doesnt mean I have to respect your posts or bother with them.
The old forum has enough discussions with bibleriot and co. to please your (lack there of) intellect...
The same with your co-leader of this forum's duumvirate, that Slavic nimwit called Aadmin.

I consider you of lower footing... way lower..just because you memorized a couple of books..here and there... does not make you anyway even remotely an authoritative figure.. in Albanian history.... you have a lot to learn.. It's not the books you read but the accomplishments in your life that others would judge you from..
You have a lot to learn still..
Bibleriot was being a gentleman as well as BBB....
I am not... I tell it to your faces...
Show me your history before 1200...

We all know about Ptlolemy and the 'famous mention'..about a certain place....you guys have been hammering that into us forever... and it's too early in the game to count... we didn't need Vasiliev to tell us that..
We know of a geographical place but do not know of any famous 'people' from that place that could be counted as Albanians.
