Because everything has its price17/07/2009 PRISTINA, Kosovo -- Serbs living in Kosovo have not welcomed the news of visa liberalisation for Serbia, because it specifically excludes them, local media reported on Thursday (July 16th). European Commission officials said on Wednesday that they would propose the inclusion of Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro in the so-called White Schengen List, but said that Serbs living in Kosovo will not be included in the process. Many Serbs living in the former Serbian province, especially younger people, say they feel betrayed by Belgrade. "It is not good that Serbs from Kosovo are not allowed to have equal rights," a resident of Gracanica said. This ahs already been discussed: illyria.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=srbijaserbia&action=display&thread=25427. If they want to get the visa free status, they cross the border register some address in Serbia. The government will not make a checkup on this. It is no betrayal. They're just listening to Kostunica, who seems to be intentionally lying. Hoenstly, this is no different then the 100's of agreements Serbia has signed with the EU since 2000 that treated Serbia and Kosovo seperately.

That was one of the standarts , the accuracy of the every citizen addresses and location . What do you think Eulex is sleeping and will let them go around and register wherever they want? No dude, what is done is done... Visa Liberalization had a price and that price was the Serbs of Kosovo. This was the only way to make Serbs stop intervene in Mitrovica which was a grey zone. Now the border will be sealed want it or not. This is the carrot policy EU was talking about

Daily: EULEX mediates in talks 19 July 2009 | 14:05 | Source: Tanjug PRIŠTINA -- The EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, has started mediating in talks between representatives of Belgrade and Priština, writes an Albanian language daily.
Koha Ditore quotes high ranking EULEX officials as saying that this mission is "very interested in finding acceptable solutions for Belgrade and Priština over those issues that are of a technical nature, such as border management, missing persons and police cooperation of Kosovo and Serbia".
The Priština newspaper also quotes its sources according to which EULEX experts are regularly traveling to Belgrade in order to meet with officials there, "with whom they at first talked about questions that are seen as less political, such as the fate of the missing".
The article continues to say that the recent visit by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana "served as the start of talks over the establishment of joint customs points between Serbia and Kosovo".
Koha Ditore claims that until several weeks ago, only discussions "on border and police cooperation" were held.
"As a technical mission, we are interested in finding joint solutions between Priština and Belgrade on these issues," EULEX spokesman Christophe Lamfalussy was quoted as saying, but he would not comment on the details of the talks held between this mission's representatives and Belgrade.
The newspaper's unnamed sources also reportedly said that EULEX chief Yves de Kermabon has "regular consultations with Kosovo PM Hasim Thaci on the talks the mission conducts with Belgrade".
