Met someone who has really challenged you mentally and spiritually etc etc ? I did just once, it was a long time ago and it was an interesting Russian friend twice my age.

Hmmm...very good question. It might sound weird but I don't really feel like I belong in 2009, lol. I often find myself being very...alone with my beliefs - being around people who're very different from me in all ways makes me very aware of myself. Being around these people makes me question my beliefs all the time. Not to the extend where I lose confidence in myself and my beliefs, but to the extend where I think about whether or not I could change to "fit in" more...be(lieve) more like other people. I basically think about how flexible I am in terms of changing my beliefs...I've come to the conclusion that I'm not flexible at all, lol. I couldn't change, and I don't feel like I should change...if anything, it should be the rest of the world that changes to fit my world! ;D.
It's funny, right now I can't think of a single person who's REALLY challenged me. I can only think of people who've winded me up and REALLY challened my (low) patience, (hot) temper and aggressive nature.

I don't know about "challenged." I think of myself as a very spiritual person and I view the majority of western society as being highly secular and non spiritual. So for someone to challenge you spiritually it would have to be someone who is very strong in their spiritual beliefs I'd imagine and I don't think I've come across many people like that. Actually I think I'm attracted to people who simply have strong beliefs no matter what they are. A person just having strong spiritual beliefs or even who is just spiritual attracts me actually. VANiLo seems to be pretty perfect for my liking.

Yes, a German man but he's been dead for almost 50 years now.
