21 December 2009 | 15:53 | Source: B92 LJUBLJANA -- Slovenia will not approve the closing of three chapters in Croatia’s EU negotiations at Monday’s accession conference in Brussels. This is according to a report today in the European Voice, which states that Slovenia is still blocking Croatia’s EU integration by not approving the closing of these chapters. Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Žbogar confirmed for local media that the chapters would not be approved, but denied that this was an act of blocking Croatia's integration, adding that it was "a question of the process of harmonizing the opening of the question and that the point of having a solution has yet to be reached.” Žbogar said that Slovenia, as well as all the other EU member-states, have the right to “essential doubts regarding specific charters.” He added that the chapter in question is the one related to fishing, and the foreign, security and defense policies of Croatia, which Slovenia has refused to approve for the last year. www.b92.net/eng/news/region-article.php?yyyy=2009&mm=12&dd=21&nav_id=63924

Seriously, someone has to deal with these Slovenes...they only have doubts about somethings because it won't benefit them. Has nothing else do do with any other issue in regards to the EU. You would think that by now being such close neighbours there would be some kind of normal understanding and compromise...

they're blocking us, joining the EU,..... whoopty doo, lol they can shove their EU up their ass, and we shouldve never made any deal with slovenia to set up an arbitration run by brussels to settle the border dispute. it shouldve been done in the UN courts , but the weasely slovenians knew they would lose, so they rejected this.
