Yea the translation is horrible. But those cities were Albanian. Those places where Albanian. There was an ethnic cleansing. There is nothing to change. Also a lot of those Greeks are indeed late settlers. Take it to the International Court if you are so sure you are right. The Albanian state needs to apply the principle of reciprocity. For example why prior to the 1940's Greece recognized the existence of the Albanian minority and after that it didn't? Reciprocity will be applied. We will reciprocate. You don't recognize we won't recognize.

The only reason Janina didnt fall was because the Greeks inside the city called on the "oh-so-hated Turks" to push back Albanian attacks. On several occasions the city was on the verge of having its gates thrown open. Only Shahin Pasha (who was ironically an Albanian taken from the Devshirme) saved you guys.
Ironically, your favorite Himariots and Drynopoulites joined in these attacks against Byzantine-Serb dominated Janina. Not to mention that it wasnt until the Ottoman secured southern Albania from Albanian tribes that the Greeks of Janina were able to repopulate parts of the region. Before the Ottoman's arrived, Janina was described as a "Hellenic outpost in an Arbanasi sea".

Illyria went all the way down to Arta; so even during the ancient times they weren't Greek cities. They aren't Albanian anymore but they were. Nothing we can do now, $hit happens.

In the middle ages we could have just as well called our nation Epirus, since majority of European, particularly Italians, did. That was a middle age flirt. But today we are not Epirotes, we are Epirotektonoi.

If we were to call it anything we would have to call Albania something to the sort of Illyria or Enkelana since the Enkelei were the first Illyrian kingdom. Epirus was of no more importance than say the Dardans, the Taulanti, or the Alban tribe.
Kastor open some non-Greek books. Illyria did go all the way down to Arta. Its a different matter if you don't like it.
Its interesting that the Italians consider Albanians to be Epiriotes.

Epirotektonoi. do you really study classics??? every time you write something in Greek its anorthographo... I guess its improper... I dunno. Had to think of it on the spot. Im a Latinist not a Hellenist. Although I have to know both, my skill is heavily on the former not the latter.

Those Panepiriotic Federation guys act like chickens with no head. Please educate yourselves!
The important fact for you to know is that the earliest Turkish defters on Epirus reveal a preponderance of Albanian names as property owners in in this area (and I don't mean Moslem names). That's why this area in the Middle ages was known as southern Albania. That's why George Kastrioti identified himself as an Albanian and also an Epiriot. Greeks spread their influence late during the 19th century by use of the religion as a tool. Naturally, Albanians, when it comes to religion, are not as good as the Greeks, and that is why Greek influence spread in southern Epirus.

Greeks spread their influence 3000 years ago in that area... and the Greek monuments are a testament to the Greek influence there.
