Post your own, please. Myth: It was standard practise for Serbs to fire artillery indiscriminately at cities. Truth: Serb artillery returned fire and fired at areas used by snipers. Firing indiscriminately at cities is stupid and a waste of shells. Myth: Serbs and Turks inside Sarajevo fought alongside each other to resist the besieging Army of the Serb Republic. Truth: Sarajevo wasn't besieged since there was a United Nations controlled passage that led directly into the city and the city had been split down the middle between rival militias. Flanked? Yes. Besieged? No. If it had actually been besieged then everybody in Sarajevo would have been dead within a month since the city had absolutely no food reserves of it's own. Secondly, the only Serbs who were in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina were either mercenaries or were promised positions in the government once the war was over. Later on in the war they were all sidelined or had deserted. Myth: Serbs denied Slovenes, Croats and Turks their independence from Yugoslavia. Truth: No Serb ever denied Slovenes, Croats and Turks to separate from Yugoslavia. Myth: Serbs had a severe military advantage over all secessionist forces in the beginning of the war. Truth: If this was true then nobody would've tried to secede and the supposedly superior Serb military wouldn't of had to rely on Serb militiamen. Apart from that the combined forces of the secessionists outnumbered Serb forces by at least 3 to 1. Myth: The governments of Franjo Tuđman and Alija Izetbegović were democratic and righteous. Truth: They were notoriously nepotistic and dictatorial with each using independent militias to crush any internal dissent. Not that there was much dissent during the wars since everybody shut their brain off as people tend to do. Their successor governments are plagued with corruption left over from their rule. Alija Izetbegović wasn't even elected.

truth; The first notable member of the Kastriotis was Pal Kastrioti who fought with his Albanian knights on the side of the Serbs in the battle of Kosovo (1389) against the Ottomans. Myth: The Treaty of London was biased against Shqiptars and unfair towards Shqiptars. Truth: Serbia, Montenegro and Greece had complete control of Albania at the time and the treaty recognized Albania as an independent country for the first time in history. Myth: Albania was a country after the Treaty of London. Truth: Albania never operated as a traditional country, rather as a series of independent clans united out of fear by the first king who was a German. Albania's borders were constantly being overrun from within by clans which constantly disregarded the authority in Tirana. This led to many disputes between Albania and it's neighbours, even turning into a full-fledged war with Yugoslavia which was settled by the League of Nations.

Ahh yes Vuk Brankovic....any country with a rich history of Kings and Queens has there Vuk Brankovic. Did he or did he not ? there is no real evidence however there is evidence that he resisted and planned upheavals together with King Sigmund and that his lands in Pristina where given to prince Stefan once he was defeated by the Ottomans and that his last days where in a Ottoman prison.
I would never condemn a man based on folklore, Brankovic is part of Serbian history.
Case Closed ?...very weak conclusion councilor.

I love it how 10% of Serb rulers sided with the Turks and they call it collaboration yet 90% of Shqiptar rulers sided with the Turks and they call that resistance.

Im sorry, but who are you guys targeting with this topic? With the location being the Serb forum, looks like you guys are stroking your own ego... which doesnt really matter much to the rest of us, or the rest of Europe and world, to whom the very name "Serbia" is synonymous with "Srebrenica", "ethnic cleansing" and "genocide" in as much as the name Nazi is associated with Holocaust.

Exception is that nobody cares about why Albanians became Islaminized. Its not a topic for Hague and Humanitarian groups to concentrate on...

Here is, once again, the Shqiptar exception. The majority of Shqiptars convert to Islam yet they disregard that and point out that a few non-Shqiptars converted to Islam as well. Not really converted, though. More like conscripted and tortured until they accepted Islam at the ripe old age of 10 but whatever.

Interesting, while this little strip of land along the Adriatic coast, Albania, having never achieved anything in its 98 year history is synonymous for what..............
