Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus cyprusactionnetwork.org/dear_msjennifer_lopez_sta_ellinikaJennifer Lopez Out of Controversial N. Cyprus Concert 50 minutes ago by TMZ Staff Jennifer Lopez has officially "withdrawn" from a concert in a European territory currently under military occupation -- claiming she never would have agreed to perform had she known the "relevant circumstances" surrounding the intense political situation. Lopez was scheduled to perform in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus ... an area that neither the United Nations nor the European Union recognize as an independent sovereign state ... because of the way it was illegally occupied by the Turkish military in 1974. In fact, multiple Greek and Cypriot politicians expressed anger after reports surfaced claiming Lopez had agreed to perform at a swanky hotel in Northern Cyprus on July 24. But a rep for Lopez tells TMZ, "Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse." The rep added, "After a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of management to withdraw from the appearance. This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region."

Northern Cyprus is made of Greek blood....if not demolished..it should at least be ignored by the world. This part of the world deserves (together with turkey) s.hit only.

Thanks to the Greek Cypriots moaning and protests, it is receiving the best exposure possible!! I have got so many non Turk people messaging me on how they can support North Cyprus. This includes Italians, Spanish, Portuguese, English.... Looks like a huge rally is being organized to take place at the same time and day all over the world !! ooooo Anyway, not that I would go and join in, I just think it's nice to show the world the other side of the story. Thanks again J Lo

If you believe this crap you are talking here (who do you think will buy that?) will restrain us from going on badmouthing Turkey you are way off...
I dont give a s.hit if there is one, two people out there who care for Northern Cyprus...they are simply not important. Important is to keep Northern Cyprus isolated...politically and economically. I think we did a good job till now on that...and not much will change in future on that...until the Cyprus problem becomes resolved in the way we want it.

All Islamic thing, they(OIC) support TC because TCs are Muslims. They see the embargo on the TC's as some Western BS So why would they support Greek Cyprus? Will an organization for Orthodox solidarity support Turkish Cyprus? Of course not. The main issue here is not religion. It is the fact that no one recognizes the turkish republic of northern Cyprus except for Turkey. But this J-Lo concert was set up for her fans, NOT POLITICS. Her concert was to recognize her fans, not the trnc. It was the actions of other people that made it political. At least she apologized for comments made by her staff.

Demosthenes, it is politics by default! The new hotel that JLo was about to give the concert for.. was builted on the land of a G-Cypriot.
Imagine, me, coming into your house, kick you out, and make a concert there for my friends. The ones who will come and sing just accept the 'political action' of me grabbing a house.

LOL, the cancellation of the concert got same fantastic free publicity for TRNC thanks J-LO So many non Turkish people have spontaneously joined TRNC groups on facebook, myspace and everywhere else!!! Desire I think I will disappoint you; US and UK just want this all "invation thing" and the UN rules to be forgotten. They just play that game until is forgotten by the people of western world. Then a "good solution" will be easier according their plans.. This cancellation of the concert just remind the new generations of Europeans and Americans why JLo couldn't sing there; because of AN OCCUPATION that takes place NOW. I dont thing that publicity to the western youth is good for your plans.. I dont thing generally any publicity talking about "invation" is good according to your plans
