1: Were Greeks blondes and also blue eyed? 2: Was Alexander bisexual? 3: Did the Ancient Greeks speak English with a Brittish accent? 1. Some were. Majority weren't. Probably the same ratios as today. And lastly, alexander probably looked like this and not like the drunken irish scum that portrayed him in the movie. 2. Don't care. 3. Idiotic question.

I don't know if this is true but I heard that the ancient Greeks used to whiten their skin and dye themselves blond to have a higher social standing. Nothing new really if this is true. Absurd. Their was no point in Greeks doing that. furthermore. Shouldn't Greeks have represented themselves as being wgite/blond hair in their mosaics. I mean shouldn't alexander look the exact opposite of how he is in this famous mosaic:

"To have a social standing against who....? The Romans...the Egyptians..or the Persians..... " -------------------------------------------------- lol lol that was good.. lol lol By the way Zvone, I'll tell you a secret; Jesus Christ was never blond with blue eyes. Greeks are and were never blond or Nordics. People in Med Sea... are MEDS! Of course the is also a percentage of population with this light colors.. but its still a percentage of 7-10%. The rest are PURE MEDS. Also, homosexuality in ancient Greece and Rome were acceptable up to a certain age. "Until the boys have hair to their legs" was normal to have sex with males. After that point, if a young man continued to have sex was considered homosexual and people used to lough with him. And finnaly, Greeks used to speak Greek with the accent of Serres!

Its like having a retarted young cousin... but your wait until he grows up and his mind start moves a little bit.. ..and all this has to be done in an atmosphere of love and patience.
After all... that is what friends and neighbors are for..

1: Were Greeks blondes and also blue eyed? 2: Was Alexander bisexual? 3: Did the Ancient Greeks speak English with a Brittish accent? Ancient Greeks had a wide range of hair and eye colors. It really depended on what part of Greece one was from. On average the Ancient Greeks looked as we do today with dark brown to black hair with olive complexions. The eyes were primarily brown. Alexander The Great was not blonde which is a misconception. In reality he has been described as having light brown to blonde hair 'Dirty Blonde'. To say it was not true blonde as one would think of today. As for Alexanders sexuality, YES he was bisexual according to todays standards. When defining homosexuality during the time one must first understand the culture in which it took place. In reality it is not known for certain wether or not Alexander ever had sex with a man. What we do know is that he was married several times and had at least on son, Alexander IV. Now his relationships with men, more specifically, Hephaestion was not necessarily a 'sexual' one. When a society exist where women are restricted to the home and are not readily available in public as they are today, people would have a tendency to find comfort with other men. They would become closest of confidants and would be the only person they could easily divulge their personal thoughts and feelings to. Some people take the instance where Alexander went into a deep depression when Hephaestion died and literally almost starved himself to death as a sign of a homosexual relationship. But this is not necessarily the case. Just think about it. You have a friend, you grew up with from your earliest years, went to school together, went through battles together and confided in only each other. Now just imagine if this person suddenly dies. How would you feel? In Ancient Greece true homosexuality, where there is actual penetration, is severely frowned upon. It was proper and expected for an older man to take under his wing a younger adolescent to show him the ways of love and love making in order to prepare that adolescent for marriage and intercourse with his wife. There was no actual penetration, but placement between the thighs. Of course there were occasions where actual penetration occurred but as I said earlier it was severely frowned upon and very 'low-classed'. Homosexuality has been a part of life since the beginning of societies and maybe even earlier. But as I stated before one can only truly understand it unless one first understands the culture in which it is being studied. So in conclusion there is no real or hard evidence which supports a physical relationship between Alexander and any man. Now for the 3rd question. OF COURSE they did
