Ersan means: 1:a man who becomes famous through his name 2: A person who leaves behind beautiful fame Ilyas means 1: Name of the prophet that controlled the rains in Israel What does Ova mean? Ersan İlyasova (born May 15, 1987 in Eskişehir, Turkey) is a Turkish professional basketball player currently on the roster of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. He is 6'10" (2.08 m) in height.[1][2] He has Ozbeki roots... I don't think there is much Russian about him

Non-Russian people from former Soviet republics usually have their ethnic surnames with Russian endings -ov -ev -in (male's) -ova -eva -ina (fermale's).
Since Ersan Ýlyasova is a male, the ending of his surname (-ova) propably isn't Russian. -------------------------- -ov -ev -in (male's) -ova -eva -ina (fermale's) mean like that:
Petr - the name Petrov - the surname means Petr's (son) Petrova - means Petr's (daughter)

-ova in turkish means valley, isn't it? and i've seen that there are some placenames in Turkey starting with -Ilyas-, maybe after Greek Ilias, the greek version of the biblical Elias.

Ilyas is the name of a prophet from the Kuran. In the bible he is known as Elijah. Possibly taken from Greek.
Ova does mean valley...

Elijah is the English pronounciation. The Arabic and Greek pronounciations are closer to its Hebrew original: El i yah. Arabic tends to turn E to I with many of such names. So Eli becomes Ili

No, Im actually interested in languages and Arabic is among the languages that interest me. You see I a highly intelligent person of Albanian descent, much much much more interested than you, who are of Greek descent, so it would be too difficult for you to comprehend my pluralistic interests.
El is a universal Semitic word for 'God' and is among the two names used for God in the Bible, Yahweh being the other. In Arabic El, or Ellah, becomes IL. Thats why: La Illah il Allah.

I prefer not to claim that I know something if my knowledge is restricted to the basics... η ημιμάθεια είναι χειρότερη της αμάθειας... smattering is worst than ignorance... maybe the most suitable saying about you.

Youve read the bible and still appraise your empty orthodox faith... amazing. You really are a dumb person. I dont have a high self esteem. I only esteem myself above the moronic likes of a kaur like you. Its just running in my blood to feel superior to you. The prima nocta and all the other things my ancestors did to our kaur peasants stays with me. Btw, its been a few weeks now. Have you asked Guma's mother about what his son looks like now? Has the nose cartilage thoroughly decayed yet? Are worms eating out his leftovers (that coffin they had him in was pretty thin).

Are worms eating out his leftovers (that coffin they had him in was pretty thin). is that a result of the highly advanced US system and society(that is in no way a country "so devoted to its own legacy, which is a form of escapism from the stark and depressing reality that overwhelms it, gives you a sense of empty fulfilment, a sense of unrealistic superiority") or its simply the tourkalvanos inside you? Or it might be your extremely high tosk IQ combined with the fucked up confused identity of yours...? who knows? maybe Al-lah?

I see that you havnt asked yet. Maybe Ill get around to calling her one of these days. Im sure her Albanian is probably quite strong still.
I have one identity and its hanging over my computer desk. There is it represented by a deep red background with the depiction of a black-double headed eagle stamped on it. All my years in the US, that is the only real identity I know and have associated with.
There is no Tourkalvanos, there is only Alvanos and he isnt inside me. I am him and he is me. A symbiosis of rational modernity and 19th century hatred.

Tourkalvanos is your term, not ours. We dont have such a designation. And im not "proud" of my nationality. I have no choice in it, its not something I did to be born into. However, I agree that: Nemo enim Patriam quia magna est amat sed quia sua. Anyway, we are digressing.
Nice job Turkey!
