Sasha Vujacic, Maria Sharapova engaged to be married Los Angeles Lakers star Sasha Vujacic reportedly has popped the question to tennis star Maria Sharapova. And, according to multiple gossip sites, the two are engaged to be married (completely overshadowing teammate Shannon Brown putting a ring on Monica's finger). Will they be like Evan Eva and Tony, Derek and Minka, Mia and Nomar, Becks and Vicky, Gretzky and Janet, Melo and Lala, LeBron and South Beach or more like Marilyn and Joe, Rick and Vanessa, Romo and Jessica, Chris and Greg, A-Rod and Madonna/Kate/Cameron/himself? Who knows? Before we completely burst their bubble, let us revel in the triumph of love (and not in the tennis pun way). In this celebrity couple, Sharapova, 23, is the known quantity. (Google her name and click on "Images" if you're drawing a blank.) Sasha, 26, is another matter. He won a ring with the Lakers, but you may not know that (thanks to famecrawler): 1. Sasha is of Serbian descent, and he is also known as "The Machine", his nickname playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. He plays shooting guard for them. 2. Vujacic's father is a basketball coach, and he began playing professionally in Italy at the age of 16. 3. He won a Silver Medal at the 2002 European Junior Championship as a member of the Slovenian Junior National Team. 4. Sasha was drafted by the Lakers in 2004, and was the 27th pick in the NBA draft. 5. His parents live in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, and he has one brother and one sister. Sasha currently resides in Redondo Beach, California So now all you need to know is where they're registered (candlesticks make a nice gift). With his fathers name being Vaso Vujacic he's obviously of Montenegrin Serbian heritage. Well this is a massive score. Sharapova is bodily perfection. Absolutely stunning. Also thanks to her strict upbringing it's been clear that shes one of those highly hard and moral girls whos found someone with a common slavic and Orthodox background so this should be a great permanent marriage. I've seen her often wearing a cross so very good slavic girl. I think values play such an important and underemphasized role in successful relationships.

I have nothing against this. It's infinitely better than finding a Spaniard.

I have low opinion about players that don't like to represent their country but rather some other...

Well, they are definitely going to have tall children.
I'd be surprised if it lasts though. And I only say that because celebrities get divorced and re-married all the time. It's no big deal for them.

I read that his parents are divorced and his mother Ksenija is now married to Goran Bjekovic. They were volleyballers. Anyone know about these two?

Yes this is literally like 1 mile ( 2 km) away from my hometown in Cali. I actually did not know his family lived so close. That's cool.
