I heard it been classified as the most graphic movie of all time. lol The Serbs tried to go where no one had gone before but I hear this is worse: I've seen Martyr and I liked it. It's fairly gory but I didn't think it was exceptionally so. At its core it's more psychological than visual horror.

I just saw "A Serbian Film". It wasn't bad, and made for a gripping modern socio-political commentary. There were a bunch of laugh-worthy scenes thrown in as well.

I only saw "A Serbian film" because I am a big fan of Serb/Yugo cinema (more of a Kusturica fan actually). The only gory movie I'd seen before this one was "Trouble every day" by Claire Denis with Vincent Gallo. Great soundtrack too. Is there a message the film is intending to send? Like is this referring to the rapage of Yugoslavia? Director meant it as an allegory of the ongoing "rape" of the Serbs by their politicians. Paraphrasing here.

"Trouble everyday" looks interesting, and now I must check out "Requiem" and "A Serbian Film".

Inception, was an awesome movie. I was impressed how finally a film has come out of Hollywood, with great substance.

For Italian speaking Albanians I highly recommend Manuale d'amore:
Manuale d'amore 2:
Manuale d'amore 3:
Monica Bellucci stars in parts 2 and 3.

I thought inception was just a matrix type rip of, it also isn't a new idea, I have dreams within dreams, within dreams lol since im very young.. I found the movie pretty boring and the end.. so predictable. Could have been better made in my opinion....

I have to go ahead and re recommend: CITY ISLAND. I swear it must be Andy Garcia's best ever performance. I hate gore films. I used to love them once upon a time, same with fairground rides, now they just make me queasy and I don't see the point... The joys of getting older..

Another Italian film. Pretty twisted one, by Fellini:

I just got up from watching that film. Definitely not Fellini's best in my opinion.

Satyricon is one twisted movie. "Nights of Cabiria" is one of his better movies methinks. Just found out the actress, Giuletta Masina, was Fellini's wife.

^^ Of course, Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, unforgettable for those of us raised back in the day, I just saw Lamerica and finished downloading "Il cacciatore di squali" with Franco Neri, for the weekend.
I took an italian class in college, just to fulfill a requirement, and the teacher showed us this movie. It's called "Caterina va in citta", which I thought was fairly OK.

Movies from the Communist period in Albania are surprisingly well made, if you can look past the overt propaganda.

I recommend everyone watch "A Serbian film". Your lives will never be the same. Ok, thanks for that. I'm now scarred for life. If anyone is reading this post, and is curious to watch this movie, my advice is DON'T!!! It's just a bunch of sick rapes and mutilations. I read a review that the movie has some kind of message but I didn't see it.

Neither did I, nor did I see any analogy with Yugoslavia. It was just a sick movie with extreme moments that made you almost throw up, like when the father .....his own son. But still, watch it. Quite a new experience and definitely a film to be remembered.

Nikola, what part part "YOUR LIVES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME" didn't you understand? Ruse don't give away the ending c'mon dude. I still maintain the movie is beautifully shot and the soundtrack is haunting.
