its strange for you to understand that ...and possibly cannot comprehend we don't make people Albanian ..its not within us ,you are by blood or you are not....(besides the partial mixes that are plentiful) all we do is pick out our own within other groups TODAY as in todays Greeks ,Slavs, Turkish and Italians You Greeks take pride when a Russian or Syrian becomes Greek and new members are added to your club .....We call that two-facenessess

Greek Arvanites came from Arvanon of modern Albanian, which in fact is Albanized Greek territory and composed mostly of north Epirotic Greek populations. that's like saying they originated in an area called Alvanon/Arvania/Arbanon greek albanians that came from an area that we referred to as alvania who spoke alvanite but they were greek though, is this starting to sound ridiculous to you yet? when did this happen? did this happen paralel with actual history and noone noticed? how do u get 100% purity out of a mixed race? by teaching them greek and telling them they are the sons of aristotle?

www.albanianlanguage.net/en/dialects/rec_map3.html There you can listen to some Arvanitka. To the Greeks do you understand it? I do, I'm a Kosovar there's been no contact between the northernmore Albanians and the Arvanites and the Arvanites have been isolated from other Albanians and has had plenty of time to develop into another language and such. However, it has not, Arvanitka is a dialect of the Albanian language even though they had no contact with other Albanians and lived with a people that pervertedly assimilated every people in the area. I wouldn't say that the Arvanites today are purely Albanian, they've been assimilated, mixed with Greeks and etc, the language Arvanites speak is Albanian however and it's a dialect belonging to the Tosk sub-group.

Most of Arvanites, belong to the Tosk group, (in my opinion Epirotes), but also there are people, (as me), who belongs to gheg group, (in my opinion Illyrians), or from Kossovo, (Dardanians). It is very to find where they belongs, because a lot of surnames remains the same. For example, the surname liossa, (my grandmother surname), cames from Skodra. Also the surname Buas , (from the river in north Albania). The majority of these surnames today, are in north Albania. In my opinion, if Albanians were christians orthodox, (as Arvanites), now would be Greeks. In addition, it is very likely to called them as the purest Greeks, (Dorians or something else).

Albanian-Arberesh-Arvanite - regional names for the area along the Adriatic between Dalmatia and Epirus, named so by King Charles D'Anjou, who named it after the Celtic name of Scotland, a land he conquered, naming it essentially "New Scotland".
Before the Shqiptar hordes overran the Albanian hinterland, the languages majorly spoken were Greek and Serbian.
