vampires originate actually in slavic mythology, in fact the english word etymologically comes from the serbian language I'm not arguing the etymology of the word, but vampires, or mythological creatures holding the same qualities, were described in many cultures, including ancient Egypt.

^^ I believe the modern perception of the 'common vampire' is derived from the Slavic legends of vampires. And as for the Serb origin of the word vampire we can be skeptical of that. Actually it is probably of Hungarian origin.

Dictionary.com says that the word of vampire is derived from Serbo-Croatian. If you guys took it from Hungarian, I wouldn't know, but it doesn't mention Hungarian there.

In Romanian the vampires were called almost like in Latin - "Strigă" en.wiktionary.org/wiki/strigaIn Latin, Striga meant: evil spirit, witch, hag, vampireCantemir described the Romanian „strigă” in "Descriptio Moldaviae (1714)" exactly like that: a witch, hag, evil spirit. There was also the male form called „strigoi” which is practically a vampire. en.wiktionary.org/wiki/strigoiIndeed, in the Slavic mythology there's hardly anything original that wasn't described thousands of years before by Greeks and Romans.

Well, he speaks Romanian and knows what is taboo in Romanian society (what shouldn't be discussed here). He also knows what is considered offensive to Romanians.
