^ the guy who posted the pic doesn't look really "dark" skinned. At least I wouldn't classify that as being dark. You must take into account the lighting is not the best in the photos.
The dark eyebrows/hair/eyes doesn't mean it's Turk-related. lol
Black/Dark brown hair, and brown eyes are the most common combination amongst humans in the world, so how do we explain this?

As I said, it's nothing to do with a Turkish/Moorish/Arabic admixture Mediterranean Europeans can certainly tan and have dark hair and eyes without being racially mixed. But not brown skin unless there has been some kind of misconception.

hmm some interesting answers so far. I'm wondering whether Pyrros and najpos comparison of me with gypsies is based on my skin colour, or facial/cranial features. I'll reveal that I'm not a gypsy, and have no known gypsy ancestors in the fairly extensive family genealogy generated by my relatives. I have nothing against looking like a gypsy (if I do), but if this is based on skin colour alone, the pictures may be deceiving (as UZ suggested). I have a pretty nice tan right now, and although I am darker than most "white people", I don't have the deep olive colour that some Greek friends of mine have, or the really deep olive/yellowish tinge that some middle eastern friends have. I have a lighter yellow/redish colour. At the bottom I'll include a picture with natural lighting (outside), where I have a moderate tan. Also, I think gypsies in the balkans are fairly mixed with the local populations, and that gypsies with little or no admixture have a fairly distinct look. Most deviations from this have balkan admixture in my eyes, so I probably do look at least like some gypsies (or rather, they look like me). Unik I understand what you're saying, but "European" is a modern cultural classification in my opinion, and I wouldn't use it in a biological classificatory context. That being said, I do believe I have some facial features more commonly found in the middle east, but I'm no expert. What I most want to know is which features indicate alpine influence? Najpos, you mentioned Pontid influence? I think I have a decent understanding of Dinarid features, but please be specific like Najpos was if possible! I'll reveal my ethnicity and some specifics soon! Attachments:

Here is my pale extreme lol which is further exaggerated by the lighting (just like the shadows in other pictures exaggerated the darkness). It's hard to rely on colour for classification I think. Attachments:

I meant whether it's based on skin colour alone, or also on facial features. If any of your Greek friends are single aand live around or near the UK for f**k sake, give them my phone number! Lol sorry I don't, I'm in Canada

The latter are better pictures yes, i'd go with Dinarid although with Alpinoid and maybe some Pontid influence.

I was joking when I said that you look like some Gypsies. You don't. You look South-Slavic, more specifically Serb or Bosniak. Could fit as an Albanian too.
You're not that dark even. Most Bosniaks and Croats I have seen were brunette, and of course, some are darker while others are lighter than average, that's only normal. Ironically, I think you look a bit like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is half-Bosniak, Half-Croatian.

Alright guys, so I am actually a Bosnian Serb from Sarajevo (pozdrav ). My grandparents are from eastern Hercegovina, old Hercegovina (x2 - Piva, and Risan), and Kosovo, and all moved to Sarajevo for education. The ones from old Hercegovina both trace their ancestry to Trebinje area between 400-600 years ago. I also had a great grandmother originally from Sarajevo, and recently found out my great-great grandmother is from Rab in Croatia, and had an Italian sounding name I was really impressed by those of you who immediately said yugo! Bravo! Now I'm just curious which features on me are dinarid, alpinoid, and/or pontid. Do I have any med influence? Thanks everyone

^^^ wow man! Cool to know your roots! (and very nice roots may i add!) One of my wife's nephews (Banja Luka, originally Bihac) is also dark colored like you. However, not having being a lot in Herc or CG, the ppl of Bosna (Posavina mainly) seem a LOT BLONDER (MANY in Brcko (especially muslims/croats) could be mistaken for Swedes or smth similar). Other muslims in BiH elsewhere are darker. Serbs are kind of darker than certain muslims as well, but you still see loads of Serb blondes in BiH. Now Serbia? Things get darker in Serbia i think. The average chick in e.g. Sarajevo is blonde, while in BG/NS/NI dark.
I met a stupid Serbian girl from Zadar who said that south Serbs look like Turks and eat Greek food (still LMAO at her idiocy)
anyways

Thanks Pyrros! I completely agree about muslims in Bosnia! I have a few half muslim cousins, and they or at least their Muslim parent are always blue eyed and lighter pigmented! I spent some time in Nis this summer, and the people really do look different in some cases. Very nice people. I'm still not very good at classification, but I like to think of my dad as the textbook example for dinarid lol I think I get a lot of features from him. His parents were from Risan and eastern Hercegovina (and has those genes I mentioned from Sarajevo and Rab): Attachments:

Klasika srpska lica! (switching to english before i completely screw up!!) About Nis, what did you notice the most as "being different"? Also saying "nice people" you mean their hearts? About their hearts, i must say most of Serbs (and rest of slavs as well) have golden hearts. May God (the slavic Gods) always protect the Slavs.

LOL he watched a lot of those movies as a kid, I'll have to tell him that. Believe it or not he was born blond! Pretty strange, and became darker probably after about the age of 5.
I noticed that the people in and around Nis were actually pretty light, I met quite a few blonde people. But they tended to have (especially when they were from smaller places from that part of Serbia) these hyper exaggerated features compared to some of the city people from other places in ex-yu. I'm not very good at classification, but I think they may have had more alpine mixing? Also I met some a lot of people I would mistake for being from other slavic countries, they seemed to have a more northern look (my Nis cousins included lol)
When I say nice, that's exactly what I mean. Even if the shirt they're wearing is their only one, they'd rather give it to you than see you chilly lol (bad summer analogy).
