the greater albanian project is a slow and winding process...first kosovo, then macedonia, then montenegro, then greece. you can't launch uprisings at this stage as the us won't support it, so you are content with seeking more 'rights' to bide your time until uprisings will be supported. what number prizren league are we up to? no. 4, no. 5??

Pesky shiptars.... www.blic.rs/Vesti/Politika/216080/Albanci-zele-referendum--u-Crnoj-GoriGoogle translate Quote: In Montenegro, should organize a referendum in which the Albanians declared themselves whether they want to live in a common state with his compatriots, said the president of the List for Natural Albania Koco Danaj . He told the Podgorica daily Vijesti that Montenegro could increase support for a joint Albanian state government if it ignores the problems of that minority. He rejected criticism from ethnic Albanian politicians, noting that some of them do not support the list because they are afraid that they might spoil relations with the Montenegrin Government. "There is a simple way to investigate in Montenegro Albanians support our list, and this is a referendum," said Danaj. According to him, when its foundation List of natural Albania in the hall there were 45 Albanians from Montenegro. "Maybe today, that number someone is a small, but the relation of state to the rights of Albanians depends on whether these people will remain the minority or the majority of their fellow citizens share the opinion in Montenegro," said Danaj. *********** www.balkaninsight.com/en/article/greater-albania-to-be-formed-by-2013-south-serbia-leader-say03 Nov 2010 / 09:31 Plans for 'Greater Albania' by 2015, South Serbia Leader Says Plans are being drawn up for all Albanians in the Balkans to live in a "greater Albanian state" by 2015, Orhan Rexhepi, an ethnic Albanian official from south Serbia, told Balkan Insight. Bojana BarlovacBelgrade "We [Albanians from south Serbia] are preparing to realise the idea of a greater Albania to be formed by 2013 or 2015 at the latest," Rexhepi, the vice president of the Presevo assembly, said on Tuesday. Talks on such a project were held over the weekend in Tirana, where the List for Natural Albania was presented for the first time. Rexhepi attended the meeting along with the mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa, and the leader of the Movement of Democratic Progress, Jonuz Musliu. "I was in Tirana over the weekend to support the project and announce that my party [Albanian National Movement] will become part of the List [For Natural Albania] and take part in the next elections in Presevo," Rexhepi said. The List for Natural Albania includes the groups and individuals who support the idea of a "natural", or "greater" Albania of one state for all ethnic Albanians in the Balkans, which would include parts of the territories of Macedonia, Montenegro, Greece, and Serbia. According to the project, Albanians in these countries would hold a referendum to plead for the establishment of the state. Presevo valley, a largely ethnic Albanian region in south Serbia, would become part of a "greater Albania" according to the plan, Rexhepi said, explaining that the area has been part of Albanian territories in the past. Tomo Zoric, spokesperson for the Serbian prosecutor's office, said that his office would check what ethnic Albanian leaders who hold official positions said at the meeting in Tirana. "If we detect that there were elements of their speeches which violated the law, the prosecutor's office will initiate proceedings," Zoric told Balkan Insight. In an unofficial referendum held in 1992, a majority of ethnic Albanians in the Presevo Valley expressed their desire to join Kosovo. A fine of 1,000 Euro fine for who ever holds an Albanian Flag in Montenegro .....

Albanians should have voted against independence. It would have been better to deal with a weakened Serbia instead of this newly created monster. Easier to carve a piece away from Serbia than this small nation with a population of 600,000.

Easier to carve a piece away from Serbia than this small nation with a population of 600,000. The independance of Montenegro was heavely financed by the West. It had nothing to do with the will of the people, their will simply got manipulated. it's easy to sell the idea of "independance" and "being-free" while at the same time relaying empty-promises while overly-glorrigying the EU and promising integration. The question is; independance from what? and aren't we born-free?

^There was a vote that passed, simple as that. They needed 55% and got 55.4 if I recall correctly. The Albanians vote the other way and Yugoslavia still has a faint pulse.

Ya, 50 something percent is nothing. Most countries wouldn't even allow a seperation with the division that close. In Canada it had to be +60% to allow Quebec to seperate, which makes more sense, the numbers turned out to be 55% pro-independance which was concequently not enough.
Plus that 0.4 that passed is skeptical enough lol. Tho it doesn't matter anyway, CG is Serb land and every Serb no matter where knows it.

It was during the late 70's early 80's. There chance for independance is long-gone most Quebecers couldn't care less for it, as far as I understand. Ask Kanaris, I wonder what he thinks.
Either way, the Montengrin-identity is real but its' only an extension of what is Serb. There's a reason why we call them Crno Gorci and not Srbi, the Srb is implied by default.
Look up any notable Montenegrin and you'll see there roots are Serb, heck most of their heroes identified themsevles as Serbs while celebrating their Crno Gorac identity as well. Even in Serbia, we have many heroes who hail from montenegro... the whole thing is a joke. Which is why we don't bother too much with it.

^Sounds to me Serbs should have a bigger issue with Montenegro's independence than Kosova's. I'm not doubting the Serb presence in CG by any means but there are more who identify as Montenegrin than as Serb, according to census figures.
