30% of the population faces a serious economic problem, not being able even to pay the bills.
Greeks are furious. It's getting harder all the time.

According to Kanaris, Greeks are richer since the heydays of Alexander. He afforded us as proof statistics showing an increase in car imports. Kanaris says that the goverment (read: the country) is broke, not the people. Of course, one would wonder if the two are not economically dependent on each other; and if one party is broke, the other one would follow suit soon enough.
On the bright side, this will make it cheaper for Kanaris to pay for his daughter's wedding.

It is insane because the people are economically linked to the Greek government and dependent on it. With years of Greek political parties promising/creating more government jobs, higher wages and lucrative retirements benefits, Greece finds itself in this situation today. Now that the people of Greece are used to what they were given by the Government present and past, they do not want to part with it.

^^^ What do you expect, when the greek private sector is the most lazy, disorganized, backward, spending less on R&D, spending zero on education and technological upgrades? You guys do not get it at all.
Greece took 400B on loans,
PLUS OVER 150B FREE INJECTED MONEY IN THE FORMS OF MOP, KPS, ESPA....
When other (more advanced and cultured) balkans countries received only 30B (Bulgaria) or bombs (Serbia).
We should be ashamed.

Well, it's time for Greece to kick ass. IMHO, the first project is to crack down on corruption because Greece has one of the worst cases of corruption in the EU. Then they need to tackle the tax collection issue, meaning the Greek government needs to stop being so lax on collecting taxes. It has been estimated that about 12000 Greek individuals/companies owe 40 billion euros in taxes.
I think its the Greek government that is so lazy they can not even collect due taxes the way they should.

the smoking laws are fine. don't smoke in institutions and buildings related to health (hospitals, clinic etc). everything else should remain. the government takes it too far in Canada

Some years ago i had to go to the Post office in Piraeus. Newly build and modern building and inside was totally chaos...100people staff and nobody knew what they were doing. To start talking about IKA?..What a joke..But really.. Was time to put a end to this madness.
