Fvck the EU. We are already surrounded by EU countries. It feels quite romantic that we are holding out to the end.

What's there to be excited about? I am sure many Serbians would love to know... the truth. Zivokovic says; " it is a historic event, strategically linking the future of small and poor Serbia with the huge European family". While this^ is the exact reason why Serbia should not enter, at least not yet. The guys is moron. I don't really like Kostunica but I will quote this; "Who is celebrating the obtaining of the candidate status in Serbia? Should people without jobs and impoverished people celebrate it? Who except the authorities can celebrate the status, when we all know the price we paid for the candidacy?"He's absolutely right, and that should answer your initial question. He concluded his statement with this; “ The citizens should make an important decision at the next elections, which influences Serbia's future, and that decision is whether Serbia should still pursue the policy that the EU has no alternative and follow the path of self-destruction, or whether the time has come for Serbia to declare political neutrality,”The people still have a decision to make, it's unfortunate that the media is fully exploiting this headline by making it seem inevitable, democratic and "historic". How is this historic? Serbia has been colonized before, what makes this different?

Nobody is happy facing the abyss - but these poor idiots(and he's not alone). They don't understand that once you enter this s**t you're over. I'm definitively going to vote "NO" on referendum.

I wonder where all the EU supporters are hiding in Belgrade, I have yet to meet one. lol Belgrade has about 40% of EU supporters, which is minority. But anti-EU oriented people are less - about 30%, so that makes another 30% of politically inactive people which are biggest zombies here actually.

I guess more than ever, every Serb needs to vote. Serbs aren't that "awaken" people. Most of them - like the EU supporters and those that doesn't care - fail to see what future brings, but at this moment there is no room for mistakes and wrong opinions.

Its a sad day, the serbian elites want Serbia to join the EU for their own gain. The southern europeans are collapsing big time while serbia wants to further *destroy* self, maybe she hates self, too depressed to continue with life, needs to be murdered by a power who hates her.
PS Whats wrong with serbs are they THAT freaken stupid. Maybe the Albs are right, we are so freaken disconnected? will this disconnection eventually just make us into an ottoman colony around belgrade? I think we are asking for it, oh well. Keep the stupidity going, no wonder no power has RESPECT for us.....we are just a dying animal that needs to be shot.

Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Krstimir Pantiæ that Serbia will face new challenges on its EU integration path. “I am glad that Serbia got the EU candidate status, however the candidacy does not mean anything. A road to a full-fledged EU membership is a long process and there are conditions. I am sure that Serbia will after this be requested to give up on its remaining interests in the province, meaning to hand over the energy sector, telecommunications and a formal recognition of Kosovo will then be a condition,” he pointed out. www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2012&mm=03&dd=03&nav_id=79084

^ meaning kosovo is F'ed for Serbia. In my opinion Serbia will be F'ed by joining this EU, l said all along for some time that we will be the slave class in this Fourth Reich, they will throw us a bone from time to time to keep us somewhat happy. Lmao, Serbia will be delibrately screwed then the EU will call for vicerorys to oversee the region, in terms of humanitarism , while its really just a takeover of soverignity. I'm telling you all, Serbia will be destroyed if she enters.

Either way, as admin puts it, this whole situation is out of Serbia's hands completely. The Balkan nations will forever be treated as 2nd class European citizens no matter the truth or desire for the opposite. Small nation vs. Great Empire. We've seen this before.
