SARAJEVO -- The marking of the 20th anniversary since the attack against the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) troops in Dobrovoljačka St. in Sarajevo verged on incident today. This happened despite heavy security, said reports. Families and friends of the soldiers killed in an ambush as they were withdrowing from Sarajevo according to an agreement came to the site on foot, laid flowers and lit candles, while a group of "Sarajevo residents" shouted insults at them. According to those who attended the commemoration, including Serbian Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina Ninoslav Stojadinović, the insults included the words "Chetniks and murderers". "A crime undoubtedly happened in Dobrovoljačka, but not against the Serbs, but against the JNA, which had soldiers of other confessions as well," the ambassador stated, as reported by Sarajevo media. According to Sarajevo media, former members of the Muslim-dominated Bosnia-Herzegovina Army and Green Berets paramilitary formation gathered near the location of the ceremony, but the police prevented direct contact with the procession that came from East Sarajevo. Twenty years ago, on May 2, 1992, intensive attacks on the JNA began in Sarajevo, culminating in the attack in Dobrovoljačka. Although a peaceful JNA withdrawal had been agreed, the JNA convoy was ambushed by the Green Berets, Patriotic League and Territorial Defense. The ensuing two days of blood in Sarajevo resulted in 42 dead JNA troops, while 73 were injured and 215 taken prisoner.www.b92.net/eng/news/region-article.php?yyyy=2012&mm=05&dd=03&nav_id=80071
