this is fkd up. i bet none of these historical figures even stepped in Skopje 2500yrs ago. There's a lot of poor people in the country they could have helped with the money that's gone towards stupid/senseless statues.

There's actually a small statue of Philip in my city Plovdiv on a count that he once renamed it to Philippopolis, and there are no confusions about ethnic identities.

Indeed, Philiph was Greek. Ivo, actually I remember alot of discussions took place when the statue of Philip was erected in Plovdiv. I think it also makes more sense, because the town was named after him and bore his name for ages... No one disputes his Greek origin in Bulgaria... How is he connected to Skopie?
