Anyone seen it yet? Initially I thought it had lots of plot holes but upon reflection, I think a lot of it went way over my head. Also, the questions it asks about the creation of humanity stay with you for days after. Another thing, the look of the "engineers" is a lot like ancient Hellenic statues of gods.

It's good, but it's nothing like the original Alien movie. So as long as you treat it as something completely different, you should like it.
It's not great though. It felt like a lot of scenes were cut or not included and that made most of the characters not very well developed. If they release a 3 hour long version on Blu-Ray, it should be a lot better.

Trust me, from a side profile, the character in this movie has that exact same large and long nose that fuses with the forehead that ancient Hellenic statues do. Like this: And the lips (as you can see above) already look the same too: I can't find a side profile to show you though. This is the only image from the movie that exists on the web so far.

This is the best I can find. Unfortunately, the angle makes it look weird but you can see his nose better here.

The 'engineers' are the essence (intelligence) and their appearance is what has been chosen by someone with that kind of scientific advancement.

THE STATUES SHOW CLEARLY MEDITERANEANS, there are not any Nordic statues of Gods made in Ancient Greece, Nords are barbarians not Hellenes. THE RACE OF THE AEGEAN The difference between Mediterraneans and Nordics. Nordics are not the ancient Hellenes."Another stab to the Nordicist doctrine are the actual sculptures of ancient Greece. When looking at classical sculpture one sees a very Mediterranean people. Straight or curly thick hair, low smooth foreheads, fleshy faces, round chins, a somewhat broad face, a large fleshy straight nose, full lips as well as almond shaped eyes are seen among the beautiful sculptures of the Greeks. These descriptions would never be taken to characterize someone of Germanic decent. Germanic or Nordic men are defined as having sharp angular features; thin straight noses, many ending in an upturned point, high cheek bones, thin lips, high mounded foreheads, fine straight blond hair, and eyes that are more round then almond in shape. Germanic men are seen as having sharp, hard faces, whereas the ancient Greeks have a much rounder, fuller, softer face. When looking at Greek sculpture one would never take its subjects to be Germanic, but instantly recognize them as Greek."The following are pictures of sculptures of Germanic or Nordic men followed by Greek men, which will prove to anyone with the ability to see that both races are distinct and bear no resemblance to one another.Sculpture by Offical sculptor of the Third Reich, Arno Breker Sculpture from Athens, Hercules Sculpture by Offical sculptor of the Third Reich, Arno Breker Sculpture from Athens, Apollo Sculpture by German Hans Buhler Sculpture from Greece, Athena Sculpture from The Racial Elements of European History, by Hans F.K. I'm not saying that the character in this movie looks "Nordic", you are. So then why are you arguing with yourself? As a film and sci-fi fan, I just found it interesting that the "engineers" in this movie, who created humanity and humans worshiped them as gods, look like Hellenic statues of gods.

i liked it a lot, the visuals were otherwordly(no pun intended), the feel of the movie felt original, perhaps the characters were not as wholesome as i would have liked, charlize theron might as well not even been there but overall just a great movie, the opening scene blew by mind and that scene when she performs the alien extraction was just sick. a prequel to alien no doubt.

The first photo you posted shows a Nord, he do not look like "Hellenic statues of gods" but like someone who just jumped out from a Barbarian Viking horde. The other two photos, of Diadomenos and of Apoxyomenos are not Hellenic statues of Gods, but athlets, so you what are you talking about?

I said he looked like Hellenic statues of gods but I couldn't find a corresponding image so I posted the next best thing.

I hate those bullshit movies placed in ancient past with some fictitious characters such as those pale statues.
What I really like is some genuine and realistic story which deals with problems we have each day.
