SKOPJE - The cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Macedonian Army is an important condition for the development of good neighbourly relations, Chief-of-staff General of the Serbian Armed Forces Ljubisa Dikovic and his counterpart in the Macedonian Army General Major Gorancho Kotevski stated in Skopje on Friday.
At a joint news conference, General Dikovic said that this meeting opens a new chapter in cooperation and fresh room for building trust between the two armies and countries. The two generals expressed the hope that the Serbian Armed Forces and the Macedonian Army would be a factor of stability in the region in the future.
They agreed that joint capacities should be used in a part of training for the two countries' units with a view to deepening the bilateral cooperation. The Macedonian Army offered the military polygon Krivolak, the Medical Training Centre and the Regional Centre for Communication, while the Serbian Armed Forces would provide training for specialists in terms of logistics, in nuclear, biological and chemical defence in Krusevac, as well as the training for military equipment maintenance. General Kotevski stated that the meeting ended with an agreement that the two armies should join capacities on certain occasions in the area and the wider region in terms of constitution of joint military medical Balkan forces. www.tanjug.rs/news/81461/army-cooperation-important-for-regional-relations.htmFinally something that makes sense.

This is a great news story. I believe the Tetovo and Kicevo Army baracks have good training facilities too This goes a little deeper than facilities and exchange in knowledge, Serbia has many great facilities. I see this being more about preparing for a "what if scenario" concerning you know what. Notice the EU has zero-involvement in this, this is straight out between the Serbs and Macedonians pertaining to their common concern. In all honesty Serbia's military and intelligence has probably been working with their Macedonian counter parts for a very long time already concerning Balkan stability (the alb factor), Serbia is doing the same cooperation with Greece. Now that is the alb nightmare; Serbian, Macedonian and Greek military alliance. As long as we're all on the same page Balkan will be stable, in order and the invaders will be tamed or put out.

Not only alb, but Bulgarian nightmare too. The way I see it, once the name issue is resolved with Greece, this will pave the way for the church issue to be resolved. This will then usher in a golden era of Serbian-Macedonian-Greek friendship and alliance. It is only natural and a true guarantee of stability in the region. In the meantime, agreements such us this one pave the way for the eventual outcome.

btw ....whats the % of Albanians in the Mac Army ? and what was that defense ministers name again ...?? what does that have to do with anything? bottom line working with the Serbs will be beneficial for the Macs, Serbia has better/more experience dealing with terrorists than they do. Plus it's in our blood to work together.
