BELGRAD - Serbia wants to reach an agreement with Pristina, but we have only been offered to sign a capitulation, which we cannot accept, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic underscored.
Serbia has time until Tuesday (April 9) to say whether it accepts the proposal, Dacic said in an interview to Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti, adding that “there is nothing more to discuss in the dialogue as Pristina does not want to change its stands at all.” "I told my colleague, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, that the dialogue with Pristina was such that only a wagon was lacking in which we would sign a capitulation," Dacic said, alluding to the German surrender in World War I that was signed in the French town of Compiegne. "The talks led to a complete farce. It has been said that a broad autonomy for Serbs within Kosovo would be offered. However, that has not come to fruition. Serbia is being offered much less than any city in France has," Dacic said. "We cannot sign a capitulation," he said, adding that the offer in Brussels had not been signed, and added that he had personally put in great efforts, that he had met with Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Taci eight times, and that Belgrade's delegation invested great efforts in reaching an agreement.
"Unfortunately, the entire negotiating process is contingent on the dynamic of getting a starting date for EU entry talks," the Serbian prime minister said. The procedure for submitting a report by EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on the results achieved in the dialogue is to begin on April 10, which "actually means that there will be no more talks, and that it will be possible to make only small corrections to what has been discussed," Dacic said. www.tanjug.rs/news/82888/dacic--they-offered-us-capitulation-.htm

Dacic on his good days, saying it how it is. This whole "talks with Pristina' was a farce from the start every Serb knows it they just went along cause really lives are at stake and peace is the ultimate goal.
The EU has no fight here while Serbia continues to have International Law and all major global institutions on their side. Serbia has proven throughout these "negotiations" that they're fighting for peace while the opposing is actually drawing for more tensions and war.
rex there's your answer to all that wasted time... the EU is playing games with the Serbs and albs. Think how much "kosovar" tax dollars went towards thaci's trips non stop to USA and Brussels. At least the Serbs were just going to Brussels the albs must get briefed by their master first which is why USA is stop 1.

Which only proves that Serbia does in fact what the issue resolved however full-sellout isn't possible. Just because the albs can do it, doesn't mean we all can... Melzer: EU is not mediating, it is biasedVIENNA - The failure of EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton's latest attempt at mediation in the conflict between Belgrade and Pristina is not surprising, says Andreas Melzer, a member of the European Parliament from the Austrian Freedom Party, who notes that Brussels has sided with Pristina and is ignoring Serb interests. What Ms. Ashton is doing on behalf of the EU is not mediating but siding with Pristina, whose desires must be implemented at all costs, said Melzer. What is especially scandalous is that Brussels is not only asking Belgrade to accept secession of a land that has been historically Serbian, but is also ignoring the Serb minority in northern Kosovo, he said in a press release. While the EU is normally concerned with the rights of national minorities, the Kosovo Serbs should be left to the mercy of Albanians. Obviously the Serbs, as the defeated side in the wars in the former Yugoslavia, should be collectively punished, warned the Austrian politician. Melzer asks that Ashton finally take Serb interests into consideration as well, if she wants to achieve at least one success before she leaves office. This means the Serbs in Kosovo must be given the right to self-determination, or at least the greatest possible autonomy, so that their interests and culture would be protected, said Melzer. www.tanjug.rs/news/82891/melzer--eu-is-not-mediating--it-is-biased.htmThere you have it; Serbia up against the world... again... and still standing firm. No other country in Europe would take a fight like this as far as Serbia did. CCCC
