After reading this article, I thought, wouldnt it be a lot of fun if Albania set a nice precedent by actively recognizing N. Cyprus? Im not talking about right away, but as soon as the Kosova issue is finally settled? I mean, the southern ones sure have a nice mouth: www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2007&mm=10&dd=17&nav_id=44641Cyprus to oppose Kosovo independence 17 October 2007 | 12:06 | Source: Tanjug VIENNA -- Cypriot Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou Marcoullis has said that her country will not recognize Kosovo's independence.Kosova should also recognize the island, which might spur Turkey into recognizing Kosova right away also...

Indeed. Just to annoy those fvckers.
To be fair though, I understand why the Greek Cypriotes made such a move. Not so much for 'Greek-Serbian' fraternal bonds, but simply because it is logical ... having in mind that Cyprus is facing a somewhat similiar issue with the de facto independent northern part of the island. Not much is to be expected from them ... though I reckon that in a dire need of a general consensus within the EU, the bigger actors of this union will pressure these islanders to reconsider their stance in regards to Kosova. But not until the US & EU sharpen their tone against Serbia and Russia.
I believe that when, or if, Germany is persuaded by the others, namely France, UK & US, to take a similiar obvious pro-independence stance like the above mentioned, the tide will definetely change. There seems to be a hesitation among Germans to openly support Kosovar independence, atleast to the extent Americans and the Britons do (who are infact ready to recognize Kosova's independence even without an approved UN resolution). The same approach towards ignoring UN approval was also taken by them in the Iraqi war, and it seems they're not as kean on running over this paralyzed organization as their colleagues and partners are. More needs to be done in this direction .... Germany with its sizeable population and central role within the EU, will be quite efficient in changing the minds of the minority of opposers of independence (Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Greece to an extent).

Hello Donnie..you made a wise choice of names to pick... ;D
I tend to somewhat agree with you guys.... why not..... I mean let's look at it from a logical point of view..... Greece can support Kosovo Independence... and I m sure you won't support N.C.
As for Cyprus...it' almost as bad as Israel not recognizing the Armenian genocide.

Empty threats shouldn't be responded with actions,
the majority of EU countries will recognize Kosovo's independence, and the minority of EU countries who for the time being opposes independence for Kosovo will fold and recognize the independent country,
this is how a union works.

Hello Donnie..you made a wise choice of names to pick... ;D Well, I figured it was fair to readers ... the pronouncation of Dijedon is always hard to imagine for those who do not speak Albanian ... for some reason. Donnie is more familiar.

Donnie, what a ugly nickname. I prefer the name Dijedon. Did you parents name you Dijedon?

As for Cyprus...it' almost as bad as Israel not recognizing the Armenian genocide. What a bunch of f@gs...just because they're afraid of Turkey, which might swallow them in 24 hours, they deny the Armenian genocide. By the way, why the threads with the latest posts don't go on the top in this new forum?

They do...but..the 'stickies' always get stuck at the top.... so if posters want their posts to stay at the top..they can keep them there..but if mods see that if after a week or so their is no further posts on them..they can 'unstick' them.

the thing is that the stickies and regular posts are hard to discern as there is little separating them. In many, more organized forums, stickies usually have a more defined section.

Lol, ahristos, I dont think Albania has much to fear from that fledgling country... Both the distance and their situation lives little room for significant influence on Albania's situation...

I dont mean today Ahristos, Albania has her hands tied now with the Kosovo issue still not being resolved. I mean one day, as a sort of reminder of their own mistake.
But I dont see it happening, even though it would be nice....
