So taken was he of her that he tried to rape her but she ran away. However the blacksmith was half way there and wound up depositing his semen on her thigh. Athena then brushed off the semen with, some say wool. It landed someplace and up grow the infant later to become the mayor of Athens. So the Greeks must have thought that semen produced children without the help of a female egg. Also, there was a contest by the gods to see if men or women enjoyed sex more. They had one individual who was a man make a report and then they turned him into a woman for the other report. Who won?
