Washington – Nikola Vidjan, 34, of Montenegro, a combat air force pilot in reserve, managed after an hour of drama in the sky above the airport in New Jersey to land safely ‘Cessna 172 RG’ and save himself and a woman that was with him.
He managed to land without engine working and wheels out. The drama was broadcast live by all American television stations and published in American press. Vidjan is working in America in a school ‘American Fliers’ as a flying instructor. ‘Everything was a usual routine until landing. When my pupil was to land the plane I noticed that the green lamp had not lit. I looked through the window and saw the left wheel still half in. We were for an hour in the air trying to forget about the wheel. I decided to land so I turned the engine off, cut of fuel supply, returned in the wheels that functioned and landed’, Vidjan told ‘Vijesti’ daily of Podgorica.
