Enel to produce wind power in Romania
EM Online
Enel, through its subsidiary Enel Investment Holding, has finalised the acquisition of Blue Line SRL, a Romanian company, which had development rights over wind power projects in Dobrogea, with an overall potential capacity of approx. 200 MW.
According to an Enel official news release, the transaction was closed Wednesday, October 24, and the projects are ongoing and estimated to become operational in 2010.
With this transaction, Enel enters the Romanian renewable energy sector, according to a strategy of the company targeting a well-balanced power mix in which renewable energy plays a significant part. Blue Line SRL is a Bistrita-based company.
The former owners will continue to develop renewable power projects, both independently and jointly with Enel. (Nine O'Clock)
