Tragedy at Golubovci airport avoided on Christmas Eve Shooting for fun almost to cause plane crash Author: Baæo Æetkoviæ | 09.01.2008 - 00:23
Podgorica – The Christmas Eve could have ended tragically for the passengers of ‘Montenegro Airlines’ on board of a plane that was flying from Ljubljana to Podgorica. On Monday at about 21.30 the unidentified drunk individual fired a bullet that hit the back of the plane at the time of landing. The experienced pilot Milorad Todorovic managed to land the plane safely. Yesterday was not a working day in Montenegro so even after two days since the incident, the Montenegrin Home Ministry issued no statement. ‘During holidays shooting could be heard everywhere in Podgorica. The lucky circumstance is that the bullet hit the back of the plane and not the pilot cabin or the tank’, ‘Blic’ source, employed at the airport, says. Montenegrin Minister of traffic Andrija Lompar says for our daily that everything indicates that the incident was caused by an irresponsible citizen, but that the official police report should be waited for.
Neither law helps The citizens of Montenegro, as usually, celebrate the Christmas Eve and the Christmas with unavoidable cannonade. The number of individuals arrested on that account has not been known until so far. Montenegro has one of the strictest Laws on Armament that provides severe sanctions even for shooting during marriage ceremony. In spite of the legal provisions many citizens of Montenegro are armed and take every possible occasion for cannonade shooting. .
