Recent events need to prjected in several scenarios. Suddenly Turkey stood up against USA in many issues.
The first one is the support of US to the separatist Kurdish terrorism (mainly PKK).
What lies at the base of the drastic change in the policies of the supposedly pro-American AKP government? How come they turned against America in so bold manner?
It is not a fresh news for Turks that Americans support Kurdish terrorists. Their interests seems to be in that way. Establishing a strong pro-American Kurdish authority in northern Iraq definately would work for the interests of US and Israel. But the problem is that Kurds are so disilusioned that they want to involve Turkish Kurds in their "independant state" game, too. Well, of course Turkey has problem with that. And the only party that would control those inspirations is US. A nice tool in their hands ay! That way they think they can control both sides and keep them in line with the American plans.
So far Turkey was more or less in line with the American interests. For the past 50 years Turkey is pro-American and its every institution was infiltrated and ruled by American collaborators. Anybody to believe that US would let that power slip away from their hands must be very naive. So the chance of Turkey getting independant and sovereign in critical issues like that is extremely low. So, then can this be a simple conspiracy that would eventually end in better consequences for US and less favorable results for Turkey? The probablity of that option is very high... I would be more cautious to interpret the actions of the current government...
The second issue: the resolution regarding Armenian "genocide". That is not a new issue either. Every year it would hit the news and provoke several demonstrations in Turkey, but after all can't be reasonable cause for braking the relations with US. After all it is not Bush's government who brought it to the Senate. It is the democrats. And what if it is accepted. Nothing will happen. But they made us believe that this will be the end of the world. However misteriously enough those two unralated issues were combined to support a military intervention to Iraq. It is supporting my fear of a terrible conspiracy which could cause a terrible tragedy in the area. It wouldn't bring a benefit to Kurds or Turks.
Who knows may be the whole thing is intended to cause a chaos which would somehow make Iran involved in the conflict and that would create a pretext for declaration of war against Iran.
Something is cooking but I am not sure where will that lead us into...
But I don't have good feelings about it...
What do you guys think about that?
