Rice: Kosovo has no economy, Bosnia not real state 12 November 2007 | 11:45 | Source: Tanjug DALLAS -- Condoleezza Rice looked at the Balkans in an interview with the Dallas Morning News over the weekend.
The United States Secretary of State assessed that the post war developments in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo have not shown enough progress.
With three presidents, three separate police forces and three armies, Bosnia does not operate as a real state, Rice said.
She also described Kosovo as a territory that "still has no economy."
"Essentially, Kosovo still does not economy," Rice told the Texas daily.
"Bosnia is not a true state in the way it functions," she said.
She pointed out that the idea was to stop the war in the Balkans and assessed that the transition has not produced good results.

Within a few years the Clinton administration regretted stopping the bombing and the war too soon. If they could have done it over again they would have made sure that the Croat/Muslim Federation took control of the country instead of 51%.
It is too bad 12 years later the issues that existed during the war still exist.
For the citizains of BiH it is terrible that the government doesn't move beyond this issue.

Let me take your logic a little bit further: Imagine what would happen if there was no foreign involvment back then: Simply Srbija up to Bihac.
Now forget what your Catholic friends were *unbable* to do 12 years ago, and focus what Srbija's ORTHODOX RUSSIAN friends might do in the future if you dont behave.

of course no state can be a true state with croats and serbs in it, these two peoples function in an ancient tribal mental sense. By other words as barbarians..unfortunately

^ Calm your nerves and relax dude.
If they didn't stop the war back then it would have dragged on for another good 5 years. The situation still wasn't that simple as Croats wanted to stop their advance after liberating only the Croat parts, and if Alija continued the war, he would have had minimal support from Zagreb, but eventually Croatia would continue.
The lines of the ARBiH were wearing thin, and even though with the Serbs in a major retreat, if Milosevic sent in the Yugoslav Army, he would have reinforced the lines the war stopped at. Ethnic Cleansing would have continued from all sides.
Over the years, sure the Bosniaks and Croats of BiH would have driven the Yugoslav Army across the Drina (With US help due to their policy back then), and Milosevic would have had to focus on Kosovo at the same time. The end result of the war (If it didn't stop with the Dayton Agreement) would be with FBiH controling the entire Bosna i Hercegovina, and Milosevic would then agree to a Ceasefire because of the Kosovo Conflict.
Also because of the Battle Hardened soldiers in BiH, they would be sent to the front lines in Kosovo, and the outcome would have been very different, as the US wouldn't have intervened because the UCK was classified as a terrorist organization. The Macedonians would support the Serbs simply because of their problems in Tetovo, and they might have even re-entered Milosevic's Yugoslavia.
BiH would be short of 1.4 Million citizens (Serbs that moved out due to the fear of extermination) if this happened. It would not be a great outlook to the international community.
Dude, you should be happy that no more lives were lost and that the war was over. You shouldn't be glamorizing anything that happened, and you shouldn't wish for it to continue. If all our polititians were smart, they would have divided Yugoslavia Peacefully, but this wasn't the case.
